You guys are all just starting to plan...

We have most done. Maybe a little 'ahead of the game' if something goes wrong, but whatever... :)

Anyways... Had a response from Dublin this afternoon - my case is off to London either today or tomorrow.

And 1 other thing... I was on the embassy site yesterday and noticed this paragraph:

The medical results will be couriered to the Embassy within approximately 5 workdays of the examination. If the results have not been received by the time you attend the interview, provided the medical examination has taken place, action on your application will be suspended until such time that they are received.

Does this mean that i need to have my medical at least a week before the interview, or can i go ahead and have them on 2 consecutive days and have them 'finish off' the visa when they get the medical results?

I know the easy way is 2 trips and then when i arrive for interview i will know that they have them. I'm just trying to see if i can get it all done in 1 trip. :P

1990(-ish): Family Holiday to FL. Met Nicole & family.

1990(-ish) - 1992(-ish): A few return visits

08-09/2007: Go back to FL. Meet with 'the folks' & Accept that we both 'like' each other & start dating.

02/2008 - Present: ...go back to FL again a few times.

09/2009: Propose and she says 'Yes'! :D

03/12/2010: NVC incorrectly assigned & dispatched case to Dublin, not London!

03/18/2010: Package arrived in Dublin

03/19/2010: Ring Dublin and get case transferred to London

04/01/2010: London Sent 'P3'

04/03/2010: I Received 'P3'

04/14/2010: 'P3' sent back to embassy

The way it reads to me is that you can do it all in one trip, you just won't be officially approved until your medical results have gotten to the consulate (a few days after the interview). Do they post your passport with the visa in it it back to you at London (that's what they do in Auckland)?

Glad to hear that it's on its way to the proper destination! Good luck, and have fun with that packet 3 in a few days!

Unfortunately, that is the case. Apparently they changed the rules a wee while back. We are supposed to allow at least 5 working days between medical and interview. I'm in the same boat, don't want to make 2 trips to London, will have to stay a whole week. It totally sucks! Like we don't have any doctors who could be trusted to do this in NI or Scotland! So, I'm not going to make my medical appointment until I know my interview date.

We either do it this way, or have another wait post interview whilst embassy await medical results from doctor....wait for them to confirm this....wait longer for visa to be issued (cos you so know you'd probably have to chase it up yourself).

That mess up with NVC sending your case to Dublin by mistake did set you back a couple of weeks.

Megger - that honeymoon hideaway is awesome!

I totally just found the place where I want to have our honeymoon: http://www.thebarnacle.net/

I'm SO excited I finally get to start thinking about all this stuff for real!

That's an awesome choice for your honeymoon! If you're at all a party animal the keys are awesome! You definitely need to visit all the shops in Key West. They have some amazing festivals down there too. Note that there is a huge gay community down there so expect to see some bizzare happenings. One of the biggest fesitvals is Fantasy Fest. Its a lot like Mardi Gras in New Orleans but with a lot more nudity and it is definitely where the freaks come out at night. It's fun because it's more bizzare than most people see in a lifetime. If you have a problem with transvestites and public nudity I'd suggest avoiding it lol. Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGKXsIMBJ_4

If the partying is not your style there are island cruises on big sailboats and swimming with the dolphins, glass bottom boats too or you can go see Fort Jefferson on the Dry Tortugas. Snorkeling abound...... You definitely need to check out http://www.keywesttravelguide.com/mel%20fisher.html'>http://www.keywesttravelguide.com/mel%20fisher.html

Mel Fisher and his museums are all about the shipwrecks of the coast of Florida. There is still billions of $$$ of gold to be found off the coast and even on the beaches after storms. Your choice couldn't be better in my eyes. Have fun and if you do make into Key West go to Ron Jons Surfshop and tell the General Manager that Tony sent you and I'm confident she'll hook you up with a discount. Wow how exciting! Have Fun! http://www.keywesttravelguide.com/ AAAARRRRRGGGGG!

We're in Miami, FL.

It's nice that we seem to be concentrated in the SE!

We're in Orlando.....seems we're all sun lovers here!! :D

So, after two hours of being put on hold at the post office and the bureau responsible for police certificates, they figured out where it is. It was issued, but they forgot to post it. Now they are kind enough to let me go get it myself :)

Yeay, interview tomorrow, wish me luck!

You're the first one to make it to D-Day!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!! I sent off my P3 yesterday :D. The wait for an interview date has begun. Friend of mine (who went through this last year) said she only got 6 days' notice of her interview, but London seems to be in such a backlog that I doubt that will happen...(and I'll be in the States if it does lol!!)

Oooh, I've never been on a cruise! Lucky girl! (Putting my "caution" hat on): Just make sure you don't stop at any non-US lands before you get your AP!

I trust you'll let us know your interview date soon!

AND we'll be hearing some great news from KisK soon, too!

My other half's parents are paying for me to go on the Disney cruise with the rest of the family next year!!!! I am SO stoked...always wanted to do that :D

Honeymoon-wise his mum and dad are Disney Vacation Club members so we've got a week at the Beach Club (pretty much a 'staycation' but who cares we'll be together). And we're going to save up to have a proper honeymoon in a few years time...we want to do Japan and megger's homeland, New Zealand :)

Hi Everyone who has already posted back packet 3 to their consulates,I had a question.SO my consulate asked me to go ahead download the forms and scan and send them the paper-work,so I can now NOT wait for that damned packet from the dear old snail friend.

I had a question about the checklist which we need to send back right away.

Do we check against all those forms, which we we will only taking to the interview stage also?Or just against those that make sense at this point?Like do I need to check against 'Medical report'?Even though I do not have it now,I will eventually get it fixed before the interview ,so what should I do now?

And towards the end of the checklist,it says enclosed are the following:

DS-230 part-1

Photo Instructions

Affidavit of Support-I-134

But I thought I needed to only send them back the DS-2001 and the checklist right away?Am I wrong?

Also, I do sign the DS-2001 right?Or do I do it on the day of the interview?

Please help me guys!

Thanks

I am sitting in the historic city of Budapest on the terrace of my favorite coffee place (right across the square from the US embassy), enjoying the beautiful spring weather and writing to y'all:

I GOT APPROVED! VISA IN HAND TOMORROW!!!!!!!

The interview itself was short, but lots of question mainly about my fiance. Where was he born, what does his father do, where has he lived, what were his jobs, where did we meet, where is the wedding, etc. She also asked me where one of the pictures we included in the original packet was taken (I guess to test me, as it was printed on the back.) So nothing hard, nobody has anything to worry about.

Can't stop smiling, people around me think I'm crazy :)

So come on everybody we'll all be over this is no time! Thanks for the support again, to quote Mrs. Dog, I don't know how people go through this process without VJ...

Anwesha,

I only had to send back the Ds 230 Part 1 immidiately, the rest I had to gather before signing and sending the checklist. I would not sign it before you have the medical, just out of caution.

We're in Orlando.....seems we're all sun lovers here!! :D

Going to be in Orlando too. Over Kissimmee way...

We aren't going out of state either. :) And there is (the optionof ) a cruise for us and 'her folks' after we are married too as a wedding present. :D

Are you copying me, or am i copying you? :wow:

I am sitting in the historic city of Budapest on the terrace of my favorite coffee place (right across the square from the US embassy), enjoying the beautiful spring weather and writing to y'all:

Is that near to the big square (commemerates the 'war dead' - ???) and all the 'green space'? Was there last year when we stayed for the F1. :)

1990(-ish): Family Holiday to FL. Met Nicole & family.

1990(-ish) - 1992(-ish): A few return visits
