I-134 Question. I can't find anything stating you have to send Tax Returns in with this form. Only an employement letter with pay stubs. Is this correct or do you have to submit 3 years of tax returns?

I agree with you, doghandler. Can this cause any kind of problems or misunderstandings ?

Even when I check shipment details it comes out this :

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE

Portsmouth, MA 03801

United States

When all the other shipment numbers have this :

U.S DEPARTMENT OF STATE

Portsmouth, NH 03801

United States

Should I worry or this doesn' t even matter ?

ALSO ! Everyone' s location service area is actually Boston, MA.

I really don't think this is anything to worry about. It's only a shipment number! Your embassy has got your case now. Don't sweat the small stuff, as they say in the States! have a nice weekend x

i guess u could provide tax returns if you don't reach the 125% poverty line.

My hubby just sent me everything (tax return, saving account), just in case, and he's way over the poverty line

thanks,my baby got a mail when she got home saying nvc got the case now..how can we track it now?

she should call NVC in about a week, and ask them if they sent the package to the consulate in your country.

Then u go on the DHL website (scroll up and read the upper posts), and see if a package was sent to your country the day NVC told your fiance they sent it.

These are required for the affidavit you send with the AOS stuff, but not for this. Still, I'm sending my 2009 returns just because, hey, it can't hurt, right? Not certified copies, though, just the print out from e-filing.

Hey guys how's everyone doing? Congrats to those few of you who have been lucky enough to get VSC to approve you lately. VSC........watching.gif

Anyway..... What's your guys thoughts on printing out the DS-156 and/or the DS-156K with the barcode, running down to the bank the embassy requires and paying the $131 before it changes to $350 and not setting our interview appointment in bogota until early June? You think they'll have any problems with the 2 months in between? I hate to sound so cheap but I'm hopefully a few weeks from becoming un-unemployed (Boeing interview ). After almost 6 months being unemployed I'm scratching for every cent. June looks to be the soonest we can get all our ducks in a row so I can attend the interview and fly with my sweetheart and all. Any thoughts?

It depends on the Embassy. In the Packet 3 for the Thai Embassy it states that if I submit the I-134 as proof of evidence of financial support, I need to provide a photocopy of my passport, an employment letter, and a copy of my tax return for the most recent year.

EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Your Petitioner should present evidence that neither

you nor your children (if applicable) will become a public charge in the United States. A Form

I-134 (Affidavit of Support) signed by Petitioner can be submitted with a copy of Petitioner’s

US passport, an employment letter and a copy of Petitioner’s tax return (Form 1040) for the

most recent tax year.

I have also read of some people who were told to come back for a second interview because they did not have copies of the previous 3 tax returns. One person in the past month had the tax returns for 2007 and 2008, but was told that they needed tax returns for 2009. However their petitioner did not file their 2009 tax returns yet.

Yes it is me. I was only gone for a week.

The NVC just sent the case to the Embassy. It is somewhere over the Pacific Ocean right now. I also sent everything to Jum today. The Embassy in Bangkok says on their website to download packet 3 when we are notified that the NVC has sent the case to the Embassy. When we know that the Embassy has the case, we can send them the forms. No need to wait until we receive packet 3.

I think you have to have an interview date before you can pay for the visa, but I could be wrong. Also the change was to take effect in Feb. On the Colombia Club Part II thread, they were talking about a VJ member went to pay $350 and the bank would only accept $131. The remainder of the money was to be paid at the embassy. So who knows...the embassy is usually last to know.

Go to the Colombia Club Part II thread if you have any questions about the embassy in Bogota. They are very knowledgeable.
