I just got through to NVC tonight (603-334-0700) and they asked for our case number and the names and birthdays of the beneficiary and the petitioner. They were able to tell me when they received our case and when it had been sent out to the embassy but they did not have any tracking information on it and did not know if it had arrived at the embassy yet or not, they told me to call the embassy directly to find out.

Hope this helps!

Oh hey thanks 'Kristin&David':)

So did you wait to talk to an operator or did you press any options in between to get to one?Cos my fiance said the automated message asks you to chose between immigrant and non-immigrant visas, and we chose non-immigrant(right?)

and they just asked for our uscis case number.

We will keep calling them everyday and bug them hehe!

And noticed that you too have your dad co-sponsor your fiance,so his father is also our co-sponsor actually.Aside from sending in all financial stuff, are your parents having to send in any G-325a forms or anything that establishes their US citizenship too?

Thanks again for the help and good luck!

You are applying for a visa to immigrant to the US, so you should choose immigrant visa when calling. I made the same mistake on the USCIS website.

Good luck on your continuing journey!

oops my bad! But I do remember reading somewhere that although the intention for a fiance is to eventually immigrate,it has to be treated as a non-immigrant visa since the fiance has the choice of 3 months to decide unlike a spouse.

But I again did a research now, after reading your post, may be not!

K-1 is a strange animal... it's an immigrant visa in a non-immigrant clothing type of thing.

For example, when you go for an interview - you go to an immigrant visas section (at least that's what happens in Kiev), because, I think, eventually, your intention is to immigrate.

In any case, good luck to you! You are in the Department of State now, things will be moving much faster :)

lol heisable. You just got your NOA2, and already worrying bout NVC

You should take a week break from us ^_^ , that's what everyone is doing. We need it, and we deserved it

In a week, you will get a letter from VSC telling you that they sent your application to NVC

Then, a day or 2 after that, you will get a letter from NVC telling you they received your application, gave you a nex number, and will forward your application to the American consulate in Nigeria, and that those ones will take contact with the "beneficiary", I forgot if it was you or your fiance.

looky here Nigeria Consulate Info

This link helped me too : K1 Process Flowchart

Hi KisK,

Glad things are moving forward :) Wanted to ask you something, might be silly, but just to confirm, packet 3 is the one that the fiance's consulate sends to the fiance right?(from now onwards there are dealings with the petitioner right?)

And I read somewhere that the packet3 also contains a I-134,is that so?

Because my fiance and his father are already in the process of filling out a I-134 form.

Do correct me if I am wrong and good luck with those shots! :)

Yes, I am the fiancee here, and Packet 3 is what the Budapest, Hungary Consulate sent me via mail. From now on, they deal with me

The Packet 3 has

- checklist

- DS-230 Part 1 (which I have to fill out and send back)

- DS -156 K

- I-134 with lengthy instructions (but my fiance has already filled this out and is on its way to me now via mail)

- forms for doctor to fill out
