I'm going to start a campaign to ban marriage rights for Dimocrats in order to enlarge the conservative base and thus save America for Americans!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

The GOP should have listened to Newt. Unlike Palin, he knows how to build majorities.

I agree.

BTW I was going through the returns for my county. Very solidly Democratic county (usually), went for Christie. Interesting thing is D candidates got their usual 55-65% in all races other than Governor. The R's got killed in every race other than where their opponent was an ex-Goldman Sachs executive

Figures.

I'm all for sarcasm and I use it too...so this is just going to sound whiny but don't people ever get sick of thinking the "other" side is just idiots? Whether you are liberal or conservative. Just throwing the word teabagger around as an insult all the time towards really anyone who is right wing. And the sarcasm towards themselves on the left by many VJers like, oh we don't work since we are democrats, we are filthy socialists, we must be commies, haha and on and on it's annoying after awhile! Or actually thinking Palin would get enough support to be the repub nominee for Pres in 2012? No way, not going to happen!!! Not every Republican is an idiot. And not every liberal is an idiot. But yeah there are definitely idiots on both sides. Palin doesn't deserve the nomination for President.

Yes, it could. Every poll attests to her popularity with the GOP base.

He could have. All he had to do was turn his people out the way Glenn Beck et all turned their people out yesterday. It's always all about turnout, or haven't you noticed?

He could have, but didn't! What about all the D's that voted R in Jersey. I doubt Beck had anything to do with that.

No, I doubt he had much impact in my county. But he racked up unbelievable margins in the very conservative counties, no question what was at play there. The R's all came out, the D's appear to have pretty much all stayed home.

A Republican may very well be President in 2012, but it will not be Palin. Many voters (on both sides of the political fence) see her as uninformed & inexperienced, not to mention a few fries short of a happy meal. The Republicans will push for a more electable candidate (Romney & Huckabee are being mentioned).

I have to say that the NY-23 race really surprised me. However, I don't think it should be seen as a harbinger. Neither should the NJ or VA governors races be seen as such. Owens won the NY-23 race because Hoffman split the vote. The same can be said for the NJ governors race. Many democrats voted for Dagget. Now the VA governors race was fairly predictable, however the margin was not. It was a good day for conservatives, but seriously, don't go falling over yourselves congratulating each other. Despite what commentators are telling you, this doesn't mean you're going to roll to the presidency and a super majority in congress. The republicans still have an identity problem as well as troubles expanding their base. I think a real good indicator of things for the republicans will be the Republican primary in the Texas governors race in March.

I expect a lot of it is merely for entertainment. People seem to like having their own side shows to the partisan mud-slinging.

Garamendi! He's not Lieutenant Governor anymore.

Now he is one of Nancy's minions. :star:

LoL, i'm sooooooooo looking forward to the CA governors race. So much fail in one race. Meg Whitman vs. Diane Feinstein. Good god thats like when I look at the ballot and see my options for my congressman(woman) is either Maxine Waters, or a some college kid. Thank god I moved to another district.... but now Dana Rohrbacher is my representative which is equally bad, just in a different way.
