still waiting on the teabagger answer steven.... i have no problem w/ being called a tool, i've earned that reputation. i'm just curious why you are so infatuated w/ sucking male genitalia.

You can hardly lay that particular gem at the feet of libruls. There seems to be a plethora of folks here who do it, and the biggest culprit is most decidedly on the right.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I'd be like trying to explain why a joke is funny to someone who has no sense of humor.

That phrase has been around for quite some time. The far right's selection of the term teabaggers to describe their movement just goes to show how out of touch they really are.

139 posts and nothing on the independent voters? Pretty lame even in OT. In any case, most independents broke for the GOP in NJ and VA so the Democrats have lost most people except for the hardcore true believers.

It's not a right or left phrase, no matter how much you want it to be, it simply isn't. It just shows how far out of touch the teabaggers, and consequently you are.

LoL, so many conservatives are trying to make this out to be some sort of harbinger. You lost 2 seats in congress while retaking 2 governors. At best it's a wash. This is no more an indication of ideological shift than the dump I left in the toilet this morning. But you go ahead and keep wishing it.

A nervous LOL you got there. Hmm, there are 50 governors vs. 535 members of Congress so it's not exactly the same thing but you'd never know it.

It may or not not be a harbinger of things to come but it's a not positive development for Democrats. Here's more if you need a laxative with all the pent up. . .uh. . . feelings you have in the bathroom.

"The president had personally campaigned for Deeds and Corzine, seeking to ensure that independents and base voters alike turned out even if he wasn't on the ballot — and voters still rejected them. Thus, the losses were blots on Obama's political standing to a certain degree and suggested potential problems ahead as he seeks to achieve his policy goals, protect Democratic majorities in Congress and expand his party's grip on governors' seats next fall.

Interviews with voters leaving polling stations in both states were filled with reasons for Democrats to be concerned and for Republicans to be optimistic, particularly about independents — the crown jewel of elections because they often determine outcomes.

Independents were a critical part Obama's victory in Virginia, New Jersey and across the country. But after more than a year of recession, they fled from Democrats in the two states, where the economy trumped all.

The Associated Press exit polls showed that nearly a third of voters in Virginia described themselves as independents, and nearly as many in New Jersey did. They preferred McDonnell by almost a 2-1 margin over Deeds in Virginia, and Christie over Corzine by a similar margin."

If you are alluding specifically to the use of 'teabagging' then obviously it is coined by the left (duh) but the fact is that there are any number of males on VJ who slag off other males via the use of the male genitalia in some weird and inappropriate context.

I believe the term "teabaggers" was first applied to the Tea Party Movement by Janeane Garofalo during an interview. I don't think the movement ever applied it to themselves.

Again, you are delusional. Yes, there are more members of congress than governors, but congress is what influences federal policy and laws which supercede any state policies, so your point is moot. If you'd read this post, or any variety of political information, you'd see that the virginia governors race was quite expected. Now as for the New Jersey governors race, well, that was a victory, I can't deny that. But Corzine isn't exactly waht you would call a success story, so I guess change was needed. In the meanwhile, two congressional seats that were historically republican seats have changed aisles. So keep predicting what you like, the facts are the facts and you're still delusional.

I've seen several videos of them referring to themselves as tebaggers. Even if it was attributed to them, it doesn't change my point as they seemingly adopted the phrase of their own volition.

Sorry but I can really imagine desperate souls trying to make everything out of nothing.

Has the pattern been looked at that Virginia has spend the last 24 years or something like that electing a governor contrary to the Party that wins the White House. Maybe the proximity to DC makes voters there play rollercoaster.

I could see the 'thorn' for President Obama that was Corzine's loss, but how long has he been getting hammered for his direct involvement with the economical fallout that was Goldman Sachs? Voters in New Jersey were unable to have their vengeance enacted by Act of Congress so perhaps they got to do some voting of their own. Independents do what they always do.

As many of you Republicans played the FAIL game before with Obama losing the general election, and now predicting a horrible election cycle for the Democrats in 2010... I wouldn't hold my breath. The worst thing that could happen to your ridiculous posturing is that the economy improves steadily as it is already starting to show it can.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
