Wow congrats on the I-130 approvals too! Keep this good news coming! So excited for you guys and everyone else with approvals

5 days to go for us! We just booked our hotel in Sacramento! There's snow forecast this week and sometimes they close the freeway if it gets really bad - so we figured we'd just head there the day before. I have 3 days off from work this week and it feels with booking the hotel like we're going on a mini vacation... Minus the part that the trip is to show evidence of our marriage... :wow: But that aside we're going to have fun we're going to meet friends for dinner on Weds night, then lunch with the in laws after the interview... And we get away from all the snow for a couple of days... :star:

Good Luck to Istanbulls for Monday!

Hey Marie,

We both have the same interview date :)

Best of luck, I think I would be really nervous without this website!

Do you guys think my risk is greater because I am coming from VWP and have a 2 year overstay?

Congrats to all that have made it and fingers crossed for the rest of us :)

Yay! Bevan you're back! Was wondering how you were doing. That's awesome you have a Thursday interview too... Fingers crossed for us

I don't know too much about VWP & AOS just that there are a lot of success stories on here.

The issue that might arise is about immigration intent.

If you didn't intend to get married when you arrived - you should be fine.

You may want to bring some evidence that you didn't initially plan to get married when you arrived on vwp... Just in case intent is brought up. For example maybe copies of bank statements for any accounts still open in your home country if you have then or anything else that might show you intended to go home prior to marriage. If not just be prepared to answer calmly and explain.

I didn't overstay but we did get married a month before my work visa expired - which i've heard can be seen as a possible red flag. I've been here 3 years and if I hadn't met my husband and he hadn't proposed I would have gone home. This was initially just a travel thing for me. Could have made more money plus there are just as good if not better job opportunities back home. But meeting my husband changed all that!

Just in case it gets brought up, to prove i didn't intend to stay I had my mum send me copies of my bank and saving statements from the UK showing I still have open accounts, plus statements showing my national insurance (UK equiv. of Social Security) missing contributions (towards UK pension) were paid while i was away too. Not something you would do if you didn't intend to go home! Probably don't need all this stuff - but we want to be prepared.

Best of Luck to you on Thursday

Hey guys! Wow it's really nearing the end for all of us now... Good luck to everyone who has their interviews this week, don't stress about it, it's a breeze, I'm starting to think that the interview at ROC stage will be a little more intense as by then you must and should have a lot more evidence, right?

Well we are still extremely frustrated, after every thing we went through I can still not go to work (Marie, you were right about E-verify, EAD is ok, but no ssn no work for the company I want to work for) start building credit, book our tickets to travel, buy a house together - all the good stuff, still waiting for that damn SS card and residency card to arrive in the mail and houses are being sold for dirt cheap all around us making us crazy, haha, got the welcome letter yesterday though so definetely a light at the end of the tunnel... I really hope to get everything by the end of this week, our house can not get any cleaner and I haven't spent this much time at the gym in ages, lol...
