Had our interview in Cincinnati today. Got there 15 minutes early, about 2 waiting couples ahead of us, one with their lawyer. Very quiet, see a couple and their pocket-protector lawyer walk out with no expression on their faces... bad result? Start wondering about the older white guy and young asian wife... No surprise they went with a lawyer-husband is chatting with the female lawyer exclusively. Door swings open, we get called in! Watch says 15 minutes late.

Young agent takes us back, swears us in. Relaxed and friendly. Asks basic questions to verify address, birth date, marriage date, non-communist, etc. We brought our wedding photos, bank statements, insurance statement and... baby's birth certificate. He says, you have a baby? And asks for the certificate. We really don't need anything else, says bank statement doesn't mean much in comparison. He almost reluctantly accepts the insurance statement and baby photo I proffer - nice to have at least one proud parents photo in our file. Hopefully making us more than just a name and number in a giant stack of paper.

Then explains the 2 yr condition, says it may take up to 1-2 months to get card, and if they need any more info they'll ask us. I assume he's just setting low expectations on the time. He was a bit junior, guess he has to get our case "approved" by someone else. Didn't stamp anything or say we're approved explicitly, but made it seem inevitable.

Took maybe 15 minutes.

Take home message: for an easy interview have a baby....;) Preferably with your spouse!

Good luck to all,

Congrats everyone, especially mru who was stressing asz off for nothing, haha!

An Aussie friend of mine married a USC years back, she was working with me in the middle east and they were just ** buddies (exactly what she told me, haha) but she got knocked up and only found out when the airline we were working for put her on the "fat file" - seriously they have that over there... cause they wanted her to lose the weight she was gaining... so for the sake of the baby they made it work and she moved over here with him, she says at their AOS interview the IO barely looked at anything, just saw the baby coming and starting stamping away, they were there for 5 mins. I'm sure having a kid together is excellent proof, but I definetely would not recommend anyone "make a baby" just for AOS, #######? that's a human life you're talking about, not a piece of evidence just for someone to get a greencard. They had another baby together a year and a bit later, but now they're seperated and she's back in Aus with the 2 kids. :crying:

Lol! Thank you it was :star: it's so nice to read everyones good news at the moment. Lets keep the good news rolling

Over my response to BeaglesD baby joke, i was totally kidding.

Regardless of how "good" a piece of evidence something may be, we are not about to do things just to build evidence. If we did think that way we'd have had to move out of the house my hubby owns just to get a lease in both our names and also get more expensive health insurance in order to have it in both names etc - I mean how crazy would that be?

Interesting story Shani about the auss girl & her f*** buddy. I guess some things just look like good evidence even if the reality of the marriage is a million miles away from great.

I know you were kidding marie !!! Was meant to reply to the other post. Not saying anyone has done so on here, but reading on here lately I bet ya there are people out there that are so desperate to live in America they'll even get knocked up by a USC for the baby evidence as some people say it's the best evidence, not necessarily because they want that baby or are even able or are willing to take care of it... yikes in my opinion  .
