Just leaving a short message as we're heading out to take the dogs to the park, they've not been yet and are making us crazy.

Interview went fine, a lot of cracking jokes mostly, nothing intense. Only problem we had was that the medical form was not completed fully by the doc.. The TB part, where it asks the mm, even though it was negative the doc was still supposed to write 0mm but didn't, so we had to go back to the docs office and get it signed and dated and sealed and return to the same IO.. she said we'll get the card in the mail in a few weeks, very friendly lady. Will write a review later.

Congrats, that is an awesome news. :)

Hey guys, back!! We had to sit around a little while and wait to be called, there were a few couples around us, one couple came out along with their lawyer and obviously pissed off at something, the IO told them something and the wife goes loudly : "No Don't!!" we were like :o Dang !! It was obvious that some couples were being treated suspiciously, especially if the male was the foreigner and wife USC, each time the husband was made to wait alone outside while the wife was interviewed, some couples to us looked extremely stressed out, just sitting staring blankly in front of them... so strange.

So we finally got called in by a lady. I'm probably not going to remember every single question, but our interview went mostly as Spongebobiwan's... Exact same questions just verifying info on the forms, so I'll just talk about what was different from Sponge's. Jason got stuck on the zip code for our address, but quickly remembered, haha. She asked where we met and how long we knew each other and flipped through our pics asking who's in that pic, one pic Jason couldn't remember the name of one of my friends and just said so and on another one at a friend's daughter's bday party she asked who's birthday it was and we answered and pointed to exactly the same girl and had a funny story to tell about how I bought the wrong birthday card (I thought the kid was 4 instead of 7, lol).

She asked where we got married and who was there - I told her that we just got married in court because we wanted to have a proper wedding when all the family can be there and my mom was too ill to travel and we couldn't go anywhere until the AOS was done, she seemed to accept that. She asked about our dogs and if they got along - we had pics of them sleeping together so we proved that... she asked Jason if he loved the dog more than me, then later she asked me the same question about my dogs, one pic we were together with the dogs at a waterpark and we were all dirty and wet, she goes: " So this was a bad hair day, huh" , she asked Jason why he married me and he told her he never thought he would get married, but as soon as he met me he just knew I was the one and we have so much in common and want the same things in life and make each other so happy, she asked if we argue a lot, he said not really, not over anything major yet, she goes, yes, you're still in the honeymoon phase, just wait, when she asked us to see evidence of the marriage I said, do you have all day? how much time do you have? we have so much. We did have this huge stack of photos though, and it seemed like she wanted to keep them all, and I went like :( no, cause I brought them along just for them to have a look at and wanted to keep most and just leave a few, Jason goes, come on babe, give her everything, we can print it again, but the IO let me then pick out a few for her to take and I got to keep the rest, yay! so just a lot of cracking jokes the whole time, and silly conversation, very nice lady, and seemed to me she was an immigrant herself, from India.

So she just told us to get that part of the I-693 properly completed by the doc and return it before 4pm (we had an hour) and we'd be all set, so we went over there - the physician's assistant said she'd never seen this before, because if the TB test is negative it is obviously 0mm so why would the doc need to write that... So Jason just said, listen lady, the note said what USCIS needs you to do, we have to get back there by 4 so I suggest just writing 0mm if the "size of reaction" was 0, have it signed, date it and put it in a sealed envelope... haha. So she did and we got back there in time, the same IO came out to collect it from us and asked Jason if I gave the doctor a hard time for not filling the form in completely as I had done such a good job of preparing all our forms with nothing missing, so he told her, no he gave them a harder time and asked her if we're done now and if she needs anything else from us. She said no, have a great day and we should receive an email soon and the card in the mail in a few weeks.

It wasn't nearly as stressful as I thought it might be, even though we weren't nervous it still was a bit of an awkward experience having to be grilled on the legitimacy of one's marriage, realy weird experience, but nothing too much. Jason says he thinks I was way too over prepared with all the paperwork cause she barely asked us for most of it, and none of the other couples had nearly as much paperwork... I thought I had just brought along everything that was listed on the interview letter, no more... so I dunno... hey one lady showed up there without whoever she was meant to bring along and was turned away, rather be over-prepared than be turned away because you left something out...

Good luck and Congrats to everyone who had good news today and interviews coming up soon!

Wow great story Shani! Thanks so much for posting! I agree with you better to bring too much evidence than not enough and get turned away... I think me & my hubby will look like bag people carrying in the huge document folder and photo scrapbooks. Good to know to bring extra pics - have already set aside about 10 pics for them to keep.

So lucky your immigration medical place was so close, what a nuisance that must have been.

My immigration medical place is 3 hours drive from where our interview will be. I did check our copy after what you'd said and it does have the 0mm... So fingers crossed ours is all set!

Congratulations again you're getting your green card woop woop

M_ru - don't worry i'm sure yours will be approved very soon. Congrats on being done with the interview

I'm remembering now: she asked if I'm going to change my name and I said yes, I am already using it even if it's not legal: had a newspaper clipping of us at an event with my married name under the pic, but I would have already done so legally had I had my EAD and SSN, so she said would I like my husband's last name on my resident card and I said sure that would be great. Jason told her but the clerk of the court who married us said I had to go there to do it etc. etc. (I couldn't remember any of this, he has memory like an elephant) but the IO told me she'll put my married name on the resident card.

She also asked a few times, who drives? we thought that was quite strange, I guess somewhat telling to them. Whenever we go anywhere together of course Jason drives, I hate to drive if I don't have to and he loves it so that's our deal, always, haha. But she did ask it a few times (maybe one of those questions to see if we keep saying the same answer?)

Also asked who starts arguments? well after she asked Jason if we argue much and he told her we haven't really argued.

Ok now I'm shouting to Jason, "what else did they ask?" "what else?", haha, he just gave me the two above but can't think of any more, bed time. good night folks and good luck all :content:

Congrats! You guys sound like me & my husband! My hubby is Mr. Laidback California over our interview - super confident all will go good... He's usually right most the time (lol!) and our friends and family too are convinced we will be fine. So I'm trying not to worry about it, prepare everything per the guidelines and be excited that hopefully we're nearly done!

I think one or two of the October filers had their interview at the Manchester office. You might want to check out their thread

More good news, checked the mail this morning and there was the lovely EAD card, probably arrived yesterday but after all the excitement of the interview we forgot to check the mail yesterday... so I just got back from the SS office, they said my card will arrive within a week or so and they couldn't give me the number right away - new regulations, but gave me a nice stamped letter saying that I was there today and applied and when the card should arrive etc. so definetely that's good enough to get a job, we really want to go abroad as soon as that GC comes in the mail though so might be putting that off for a little while and just do freelance promo work until then.

Wow, this has actually not been such a long journey after all, a few very boring days but VJ helped a lot and you guys were awesome, thanks!! If anyone wants to keep in touch through email/facebook pm me :luv:

Anyone figured out yet around which exact date will be our "reunion" for ROC stage?

Nope I want to, but I'm trying to hold off checking till after the interview, i'm confident we'll be approved but just in case we're one of those unlikely couples whose background check hasn't cleared/get thrown into additional processing and end up waiting a looooong time after interview for the approval... I'm trying to be patient

Hi!

so I had my interview yesterday

everything smooth, but me, I was so nervous, I barely now my name;-)

yes I know, stupid

IO was strict to the point, no tricky questions, no smile

First oath, then She ask about originals of documents we provided with petition

(BC, marriage certificate, passports, our ss, my EAD card, proof of citizenship for my husband)

Then She asked my husband:

his name, my name, when we got married, how me met, how we communicate with each other when we were apart, when we visited each other, how often I was in US, my address aboard, what is my profession,

did he visited me there, my parents names?

in the meantime She look at our pictures, and took about 3 of them

and she check something in our petition

then She asked me:

my name, my husband name, where he works, and what kind of work he does, when we got married (again), all question from I-485 -”no” questions, my telephone nr (like always I forgot- I don't call to myself!!!), my address, when I was in US for first time , if I ever overstay my visit in US?

Then She asked about documents which indicated that we are living together (originals):

our lease, utility bills, joint bank account : she check address on bank statements, and ask me about it-

I completely forgot that they are sent to my husband PO box :-(

She asked if we wanted add something

informed us about conditional green card, and that we have to wait for decision 2 months

and that was it...

more waiting for me:-(

best luck

and fingers crossed for me
