Soo... I finally got my SSN, a Job with it and my AP.. wonderfull year this is by far... Still waiting for my interview date... seems like im waiting more than a lot of people are here.. humm

Now the biggest question i have is should i risk traveling to South America with my AP. I am crazy to meet my nephew and visit my brothers after 10 years !!! Has anyone traveled with no problems coming back??

lola lola lola, no te preocupes, i also have problems with the interview letter and interview date. I say for your trip depends on when you want to go, somebody here received an interview letter two days ago for february 17, so if we receive an interview letter with the respective interview date it will be for sure after february 17. Its your choice lola, but good luck and congrats on the SS#, im still waiting on mine.... peace!!!!!!

If you are out of status I wouldn't advice you to go. EAD doesn't help you travel and AP could be a one way ticket only. You better wait until you get your Green Card.

If you are still in status-that means a valid visa-yes, you may go with no problems.

So I was preparing the documents for our upcoming interview and found the Fedex receipt containing the tracking number of my AOS packet. A quick search of it on the Fedex website showed that it was signed for by a 'SPARNELL'. Anyone else have their AOS packet signed for by the same? If so, how has your timeline been?

I'm sure it makes no difference but I'm just looking for clues or any differences as to why my EAD hasn't been approved or ordered yet. Interestingly enough, received the appointment letter for the interview even though nothing has been updated on the website. And I see that this has happened to others as well. I guess I'm just looking for some kind of understandable 'pattern', if any.

Congrats Lola...Over South America I agree with Juliava's advice. I heard that they'll always approve the AP even if you're not eligible to use it. I guess you can still occur a 3/10 year ban if you've overstayed (by i think 6 months/a year +) even if you have a pending AOS.

Just hang in there hopefully not too much more waiting. For you, Noir Dior and everyone else still waiting for interview letter i'm sure yours is due anyday. I think the interviews just depend on how busy your local office is. I've noticed people who filed after us having interviews before us and also people who filed before us getting interviews scheduled after us. Fingers crossed you guys get your IL's very soon! :star:

Wish me luck, big day at Tuesday!!!

I'm terrified...

Good Luck M_ru... Wow there are soooo many of you with interviews Tuesday - a big day for VJers - I think Spongebobiwan/Maddy, Shani, Karen (October Filer) all have theres too and maybe more people i'm missing... In case i'm too busy with work to get chance to say it b4 good luck you guys... Fingers crossed for you

I googled my fed exsigner! Found one other VJer! But our cases are in Missouri now so I don't think the signer affects it... I scan the details too for clues signs also lol! I know its crazy... Like did you know our EADs are actually mailed from Kentucky despite the Missouri return address? I was curious as to why mine arrived the day after the mailed e mail so googled the zip! Thank goodness I have a job now and a lot less time on my hands...

Btw Mochimasala my IL also came (with no touches) pre-ead so no worries...

Have a good weekend you guys

Hey guys, haven't been on in a while, I've just updated the timeline in my signature for anyone interested, We better get crackin with preparing our documents for that interview this tuesday, but the list is just ordinary stuff that we already sent in or bills so no big deal I guess, we'll be fine I'm not stressed at all... Well as you all can see we got the AP document... completely useless now I guess with the interview 3 days away, #######? Got 2 emails saying EAD card production ordered, but nothing in the mail yet... so that's also been a pain in the ####### and would've been far more useful about a month ago... so I guess I won't be able to take it along to the interview then for them to take it away as they usually do at the interview? But besides that, if we're approved on tuesday it will be extremely wonderful and quite a short ride...

Very good video, thanks... we're all set with everything he recommended so no worries, only we didn't have a big wedding, but that's only because we don't want to have that here but abroad so we're not worried at all, as long as you have a good marriage and tell the truth you should have no problems I think.

Thanks Noirdior,

That was an interesting video. Thanks so much for posting. Though the guys analogy about comparing not using a lawyer to doing surgery on yourself was amusing. I think we're all set too, we had pretty much everything he talked about apart from we had a Las Vegas wedding - lol! Though honestly the place we picked was not typical Vegas - it was a cute little church... See pic below!

We wanted the wedding to be just us as my parents couldn't attend and it didn't feel right to me to have guests if they couldn't be there. we're planning at the very least a reception/celebration, possible second wedding next summer on Lake Tahoe with all our families. And we have spent a lot of time with my husband's family... We have affidavits from both families, copy of Christmas check from my hubby's parents, photos, cards, newspaper from my home town with wedding announcement made by my parents. Obv. in addition to the joint financial/insurance stuff.

I agree with Shani we have real marriages so shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Good Luck to Shani, Spongebobiwan/Maddy, M_ru, Lucky Karen & anyone else I forgot with interviews tomorrow. I'm so excited for you guys

Good luck to everybody who has got interviews tomorrow! Sorry, I've been gone from here for a while. Been busy sending off job applications but, ach, in this economy there are absolutely no suitable teaching jobs for me. All the ones I've seen are for pre-school positions, and I've got zero experience with kids that age. Oh well. Hopefully something will turn up soon.

My interview isn't until February 16th, but I'll pop back here from time to time to see what everyone's up to. Congratulations on having received your EAD, Marie, and having got a job so quickly!

Don't forget to post your interview experiences everybody! Particularly looking forward to reading yours, Shani!

PS/ Wish me luck, too, as I'm going to sit the written part of my Texas driver's licence test tomorrow. Given the amount of idiots on the Texas roads, surely it can't be that hard to pass it?!
