well summer at least in my case, for my process my a# was given to me by the USCIS after filing, but for filling out the documents previous the filing actions I put the control number that appears on my visa as the a# momentarily before USCIS gives you the real one. I've heard versions that you may use the control number or the eight digit in red ink.

Hi Noirdior thank you so much for your kind reply. I was in such a panic the application had to be submitted tonight, so I went ahead and placed the number in red on the lower right side of my visa. Now I have to submit other evidence and documents through the mail. After that it is fingers crossed. Cheers

Congrats Marie about receiving your EAD card and starting to work! This is definitly exciting!

I got my EAD and AP in the mail this week (been so buzy at work, didn't got the chance to sneak in). I feel like I was a criminal on the picture, but oh well, I have the card so that's what counts :-P

Haha yes! In a way I will miss the days where i sat around at home on visajourney posting with you guys.... Work was crazy yesterday. Was good to be working and lovely to see a lot of people i used to work with - lots of hugs catching up etc... But I don't think my phone stopped ringing all day and my desk is piled in paperwork already! But excited to make some money finally & have a real life! Enjoy the vacation while it lasts you guys!

Thank you! It's been a hectic week but exciting to be getting back into having a normal life! Congrats on your EAD & AP... My AP is still Awol... Good thing i don't plan on leaving the country any time soon. My ead card pic is ok - not very flattering are they? But it could be worse! But yay for being done with another stage of the process!

I finally i received in the mail the EAD!! so happy.. and also a letter with part of the AP form that apparently i forgot to sign so i had to mail it back with my signature on it ... But everything is looking like is going well .. anxiously waiting for an interview notice

Hey Noir Dior, yep M_ru was right you unfortunately have to go to the Social Security Office to apply for the number. Then more patient waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Have fun there, I went last week and my office was full of homeless people & people missing teeth, in there collecting their payments (I think) with all their luggage everywhere, poor things...

But actually it wasn't too bad & didn't take too long - 20-30 minutes... The person we talked to though said avoid going there the start of the month as payments are issued and 2 hour lines are common!

Also Noir Dior, Lola and anyone else still waiting i hope you guys get your interview letters soon...

So excited for all of us, we're nearly there!
