November filers

Well, I just came home and found all four NOA's in my mailbox (for I-485, I-130, I-765 & I-131). Apparently all four were also "touched" on November 12th (who come up with the word "touched"?! It makes me think USCIS are doing something sexually inappropriate with my paperwork! Wouldn't "updated" have worked just as well?).

After all the waiting for the NOA's I'm a little underwhelmed. It's a bit of an anti-climax. I think I was expecting to feel a little more excited but really now there will just be another round of waiting. Why couldn't they have included a more interesting message in my NOA's?, something like "Dear Ms DirtyWeeBesom: Clearly you are far too cool to go through this whole immigration process, so you can skip everything, and just go straight to being naturalized...tomorrow"!

Did you know that you can get email and text message updates about the status of your case if you sign up on the USCIS website? Kinda cool.

I get the underwhelmed thing... After our checks were cashed I was like happy for a few minutes then i was like ok now we need the NOAs... I'm expecting them to look like visa extension applications - totally generic... That said will be great to have proof that processing has begun!

Hope ours get here today too... We don't get house delivery and our mail arrives at a box a few miles away... I don't have a car so have to wait for my hubby to get out of work to find out... More waiting!!! I really hope they're here now!

Thank you so much!!! I hope you're right! I just e-mailed my husband to see if he can take a break and go check! lol! I think he's prob too busy with work though - he is sooo laid back over the whole AOS thing

We live in a ski town in Tahoe... because of the snow noone gets house delivery - even in the summer! We're just lucky that our mail box is listed as our house address if that makes sense. we don't have to use a PO Box number - can only imagine what confusion that would have caused.

Btw totally agreed with you wishing they could give you your naturalization notice already! I keep saying to my husband I wish we could have the fastest AOS ever... Except we're moving at average speed if that so far!

we just checked - no sign of our NOA's and unfortunately I don't think there's Saturday mail delivery - our post men are lazy! So more waiting, hoping they get here next mail day

Awww Maddy that sucks... I'm sure they'll clear soon. Maybe they've already been posted and your bank is just being slow to show it...

But the waiting is definitely not fun...

Well, we have not just ONE, but TWO AOS's in process (wife and daughter). So, Yes. We are SO relieved to have our checking account practically emptied.

Haha so true - California is soooo not geared towards the car less! There are taxis and buses and trains from town... I haven't quite resorted to getting a taxi to check the mail yet! Nor walking the 3 mile round trip in the snow but we are early in the process still!

Yep this mail checking drives me crazy... I called the post office yesterday to ask about the saturday mail delivery- they were like huh yes of course! So today we went to check and the mail delivery guy was there and hadn't got to our box. so we went to town and then came back an hour later. He was still there, but there was junk mail in our box but no NOAs...

Anyways my husband had to work this afternoon and agreed to check again to humor me! Well looks like your premonition came true as he called me to say that there are 4 envelopes from USCIS. Can't wait till he gets home with them and I can see if tracking is available and register for phone & e-mail alerts!!! I don't think i've ever been so enthusiastic about a few sheets of paper before!
