For those November filers still waiting - it shouldn't be much longer now things are really happening for all of us :thumbs:

And they touched my AP again this morning... The suspense is killing me...

But I do not know if I could use my AP anyway if I got it before I got the EAD and come back and still be able to work... I wonder if they would let me back in with my TN-1, and if so, if my TN would still allow me to work... This is confusing :bonk:

Oh well, I was not planning to travel before Spring. My husband and me are planning our honeymoon in Quebec city, but we do not want to buy or reserve anything before we know I can come in and out of the country B)

Aw Mestis with our similar timelines yours has to be coming through any minute! lol! :thumbs:

Randomly i'd left my cell in the bedroom last night, picked it up around 8:30 last night to check for calls and the texts had come through at 8:01 pm P.S.T... Cue - me going `we have updates' and running to my computer, my hubby laughing at me... :lol:

Had checked the cases earlier in the day and no touches until those texts came through.... Interestingly though my AP is on box 6 - post decision activity - it says it's approved but the document hasn't been ordered yet. The EAD went right to box 7 - card ordered with no touches beforehand... Ok i'm over analyzing but just in case anyone is at all interested!

Fingers crossed for all you guys still waiting that you get the exciting news soon :D

Congrats Marie!! That's so awesome!! I'm still waaaiiiting and still addicted to Visa Journey, lol... asked the hubby to do something to the internet yesterday so I couldn't use it... and he did... but a few mins ago I saw he just pulled out a few cords and here I am back again :rofl:

This thing is so addictive!

I was thinking that now EAD is approved I could apply for jobs and hopefully the whole process of application -> interview -> start date won't be done before the thing arrives... Was thinking if I did get an interview I could just show them the e-mail and just tell them the truth - it's approved but I can't start until the thing shows up. But now i'm second guessing myself and wondering if that sound sketchy to an interviewer and since the EAD approval said it could take 30 days to arrive am now wondering what if the thing does take that long and the job application process is really fast...

Ok am off to see if I can at least get a cover letter made!

I have a SSN but if a company everifies I have to have my name changed before I start or they'll get a no match - which is resolveable (you have 10 days to get it fixed) but would be kind of awkward all the same. I know legally a company can't insist on seeing your employment authorization until the first day of work. Though some like to get paperwork done early. They don't need the social security number until they hire you in their system, though a few companies ask for it on the app - not usually mandatory though. I know that some companies move fast and others take weeks... It's more the start date i'm concerned about... If I applied today and they gave me an interview in a few days and then were like `can you start on Monday?' i'd have to explain...

I think i'm going to prepare cover letters etc, figure out where i want to apply and then maybe apply at the weekend... A little more waiting lol!

I know, the waiting really sucks, but just a few more days for you, yay!!

Yep a few more days! You would think this process would have taught me patience by now!... lol! :blush:

My hubby & I were talking earlier on the way to the gym, we decided I should just get cover letters ready, job search etc... And have everything ready to go. I'm just going to wait then apply for jobs like the day EAD arrives! That way i'll be ready to start as soon as i'm hired somewhere...

I'm sure you won't have much longer to wait either - it's got to be any day now for your EAD :thumbs:

Good luck Marie for the job search! Doesn't hurt to post an updated version of your resume on job boards, but I totally understand you want to wait to have the card in your hands to do interviews... People get scared when you say the "immigration" word :-t
