Grats dirtyweebesom and marie09! So glad to hear you all have received your interview dates! Oh how I wish I could have gotten the AOS filed in November with you all! I thought I was pretty much done when I hit the HUGE stopping block of the I-693. It's like landing on the luxury tax in Monopoly. You're almost completely around the board and then BAM! you find out you have something else to pay for and have completed. My Non-USC husband's medical took over 2 weeks to complete (Original appt on 12/14, finally was able to pick up papers after xray week and a half later).

anyways, congratulations you all! Hope everyone else in the November filers gets their interview letters soon! Just means us December filers will be next!!!

Happy New Year!!!

I'm starting to panic before my interview,

We got married at October in US, send AOS package at November (we know each other from 2001)

I'm worried because we don't have a lot of proof: only lease and bank account both from November

Not to much hmmm!

Any suggestion?

Congrats Marie, that's awesome you have some news!! Looks like it's normal that everyone now gets their IL before any EAD or AP issued...

Yup, our interview is the 26th too, so we're excited to have that over with and will definetely write a review.. from doing the biometrics there though it seemed like ours was a really laid back and nice place and everyone working there seemed to be immigrants which was cool...

our landlord agreed that we can do a month-to-month lease but hasn't said anything about actually drawing up a lease contract so I'm wondering if I should ask her for some sort of an agreement with both our names on it, just for the interview sake as right now the lease is in my name only as my hubby moved in with me and we don't want to live here long and renew the lease but want to buy a house together...

It's really hard to give you a whole lot of advice if we don't know your full situation... I think USCIS look out for obvious fraud indicators such as:

foreigner paid USC to get married for GC and they have NO marital relationship whatsoever... so if for instance the USC is dirt poor and you have a whole lot more dough it looks suspicious + he is much younger/much older/completely different culture or religion etc. We all know what it looks like when two people are genuinely together and in love and when they're not, so I think USCIS judges by the same vague standards and it's not always clear cut. Things such as getting married just before a Visa ran out and not having known the person for much time before then is also a dead giveaway, or a USC that keeps on marrying and divorcing foreigners, so a marriage quickly after a previous divorce raises red flags...

But just because you're newly weds and don't have a lot of "evidence" of your combined assets/debt does not necessarily raise red flags if you know what I'm saying...

Every case that I've read about on here that's had trouble from USCIS/denials sounded even TO ME like it was a fraud case... so if you're confident in your marriage and you know your marriage is legitimate and for the right reasons you should have no problems, even IF there's some evidence lacking, of course gathering as much evidence as possible and feasible is always highly recommended...

Hey you guys,

I've been reading some of the interview reviews on here - http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/ it's helpful. The office i'm going to is different to my ASC so have no idea what it will be like. From the reviews it seemed like the office was professional no scary stories - some people got asked for a lot of evidence some not so much. We're just going to go as prepared as possible - take everything we can think of for every possible question. Sure we have no joint assets yet (we had hoped to buy a car together but since i don't have EAD yet nor a job we may not be able to afford it in time... ) Though we have other stuff and we are very much in love and have a lot in common & are pretty much inseparable - so that should show in our chemistry. I'm sure so longs as I don't get too nervous (I stumble my words when i'm nervous ) we should be fine and there shouldn't be anything we can't answer honestly or explain.

The thing that concerned me on the reviews is that once in a while a couple will be told that they will be approved but unfortunately their background check is still pending and it could be days, months even a year until the gc can be issued. I can't imagine anything worse, than waiting months after interview with no idea of when your GC will arrive... But having seen some of the stories on VJ there are some perfectly legit couples that really are that unlucky... Hope that doesn't happen to any of us!

congrats marie 09 and to the rest of you who have received your IL's. I've heard that whoever conducts the interview will be rude and hateful, its awful but technically it's legal. So just stick it up and none of you are obviously doing this to avoid immigration laws so you will be fine. Congrats again and good luck!
