I received my first set of receipts today (NOA1's). It has been 10 days since I sent my applications to Chicago. Both of my checks were cashed on 11/3 which was 6 days after the applications were sent. Hopefully this will help with a time frame for all of you.

I think the worst part so far was the wait for the receipts because there was nothing you can do to check on the progress. At least now I have the receipt numers to put into the USCIS website for further updates.

Congratulations, Marie! Nothing to report on my end unfortunately. Maybe the USCIS people were on holiday today because of veterans day, so maybe I'll hear something tomorrow. Here's hoping.

I had totally forgotten about Veteran's day - explains why there was no mail yesterday - probably what's holding up all our NOA's! Can't wait to have those tracking numbers!

My hubby was saying some banks are really slow at showing checks have been cashed. Ours was dated 11/10, I checked constantly that day but it didn't show till 11/11...

Hope everyone gets good updates soon... :star:

My wife started GC process for her Mom (in US now) and mailed the documents ( I-130, I-485, I-693, I-864 and G-325A) on 11/10/2009 and delivered to them today as it was a holiday yesterday and will post the updates.

Well, I just came home and found all four NOA's in my mailbox (for I-485, I-130, I-765 & I-131). Apparently all four were also "touched" on November 12th (who come up with the word "touched"?! It makes me think USCIS are doing something sexually inappropriate with my paperwork! Wouldn't "updated" have worked just as well?).

After all the waiting for the NOA's I'm a little underwhelmed. It's a bit of an anti-climax. I think I was expecting to feel a little more excited but really now there will just be another round of waiting. Why couldn't they have included a more interesting message in my NOA's?, something like "Dear Ms DirtyWeeBesom: Clearly you are far too cool to go through this whole immigration process, so you can skip everything, and just go straight to being naturalized...tomorrow"! :lol:

Did you know that you can get email and text message updates about the status of your case if you sign up on the USCIS website? Kinda cool.

Anyway, good luck to all of you who are still playing the NOA waiting game. Have a lovely weekend!
