How is everybody doing today? I checked my case status online, and still no updates since November 25th! At this rate, there's no way I'll receive my EAD by the end of the year/early January. Sigh.

This whole situation has driven me to drink. I'm sitting here drinking eggnog and I accidentally put in too much whisky, so now I'm totally tipsy.

Awwww - lol!

I noticed today on the adjustment from family visas forum - 1 November filer got their EAD approved. The first one I think - their NOA date was Nov 3rd...

Hopefully more Nov filers will start getting approved in the next week or two maybe.

Have you guys checked your timelines? My dates keep getting pushed back... VJ are now predicting my EAD to be approved between Dec 25th and Jan 2nd... The AP's gone back too till Dec 23rd - Dec 27th... I think my AP/EAD were at least a week earlier to start... So basically given mail and everything - January

I feel like drinking too especially the way this week has gone for me. :(

Funny thing is even though I got an RFE still no updates online since the last touch, right after my BIO. I think we'll see the EAD approvals either by the end of december or very beginning of January.

Damn! You're right. I know that the earliest date my EAD was going to be approved was December 22nd, now the timeline for it is December 26th-January 3rd.

The AP is December 24th-December 28th.

If it doesn't get here by December 23rd (and, let's face it, I probably won't even have received the approval notice at that point), it might as well arrive in the first week of January because I'm leaving town on Christmas Eve, and won't get back until around the 3rd or 4th. I'm actually a bit worried about it arriving when I'm gone, as my local post office is apparently incapable of following "held mail" instructions. I've come back home on several occasions after a trip to find my mailbox bursting with mail when it should have been held for me. I don't like the idea of mail from USCIS lingering in my mailbox for days. I just don't understand why Americans can't get their mail shoved through their door like we do in Scotland. Seems so much safer.

So they never put anything online about the RFE? That's kindof scary if the thing had got lost in the mail... It's got to be bad enough getting an RFE without being surprised by it in the mail.

I'm actually a bit worried about it arriving when I'm gone, as my local post office is apparently incapable of following "held mail" instructions. I've come back home on several occasions after a trip to find my mailbox bursting with mail when it should have been held for me. I totally miss the mail through the door thing too. We're going away for the holidays from 23rd - 28th... 3 days to miss getting mail. Not too bad - we should be fine. My hubby keeps teasing me though cos I hate the Post Office i am so paranoid about them, the other week a package was delivered and I got no notice. Finally put in an online query and they called and were like oops we put the notice in the wrong box. Yes they are that awesome! There are people with vacation houses in this area with boxes that rarely get checked so hoping they don't put any of our USCIS notices into the wrong box...

Am off for drinks now with the hubby at a local bar... have a wonderful Friday you guys and here's hoping next week will bring some good updates...

I think "touches" in general has been slow lately, I was also worried after not getting a touch after doing my walk-in bio, but then I see a lot of people who never had any touches or barely any after the Bio letter and then getting everything including the GC in the mail without any updates/emails online... so don't worry guys just hang in there and don't worry about the website updates, I don't think it's up to date at all...From what I can see EAD's are issued about 40-42 days from NOA date, so yes that should put us at the end of this month or early next month to get them, that's not too bad, we can enjoy the holidays with no pressure to start working yet... and start the new year off with a bang!

Yay you got you NOA's awesome! Must be such a relief that they accepted it. To sign up for alerts on the USCIS.gov homepage on the left there's a list of services after you file... One of the options is sign up for case alerts - click it and you'll be able to add all your case numbers.

guys, speadsheet --- awesome idea!!!!

I'm not sure if you can apply for a driving licence if you only have NOA's. In Texas, I can't apply for one until I am actually in receipt of my EAD and I do believe that some states even require you to wait until you have the conditional green card in hand.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the DMV won't accept NOA's for a driving licence application because, ultimately, those only say that you've applied for change of immigration status; they don't prove that you will actually be allowed to change status and stay in the country. I would think that you have to be a legal alien to be allowed to get a licence and at the moment we're all in this sort of weird "pending" limbo.
