That really sucks that you had to send another.

I read something the other day about someone saying they put our cases into electronic format then file them away.

I was under the impression before that our cases are hole punched at the top then go into bar coded files that are passed around. But maybe things have changed?

If that poster was right and they're all electronic now - are they scanned? Am imagining someone sat scanning all sheets maybe thinking some things aren't necessary (like not scanning our cover letters etc...) so only scanning some pages, maybe going on lunch getting back and forgetting how far they'd got.... Would totally explain Istanbulls' marriage cert...

Sucks there's no way you could just call the IO and say hey the marriage cert is there on page.... I'm sure now they have another copy of your marraige cert - all will be good...

Awww I totally sympathise, am glad they got your 2nd marriage cert. I'm sure given your early biometrics it won't slow you down at all...

I think things are slowing down with holidays coming and all... I noticed that according to the database some October filers are still waiting for EAD/AP approvals... Whereas a few weeks ago - it seemed like October filers were getting EAD/AP approvals on the day off or day after biometrics. Definitely not the case right now. I can't believe not 1 November filer has had an EAD approval yet...

Hopefully next week will bring better news for all of us...

I know Marie I am very glad that I did the walk-in. Today is my actual Bio Appointment day. If you look at the from the brighter side, even with RFE, I am still ahead a little.

I checked the October filers too, there are still people waiting for their EAD/AP approval. Hopefully, rest of this week and next week will be better for all of us. :)

This is really waste of paper, time and money. They need to automate this whole paperwork process. There will be less problems and things will move fast and most importantly, they can cut down their payrolls by eliminating these incompetent people. :ranting:

Sorry I needed to rant.

I think these kinda things happen more, when you pay to much attention to detail. I spent too many hours, making sure that I have everything that they were asking. :( To be honest with you, I would not have been this mad, if I had missed a document like a missing W2. I would have said my bad. But when they loose a document that you sent, that drives me crazy.

Thank you Marie. I think so far the most positive thing about my application process is that I have the fastest NOA to BIO. :)

And I think I have the slowest so far - lol! As my ASC didn't let me do a walk in - they said you have to have an appointment letter for that day noone can come early...

Though when I was getting my biometrics done yesterday what did my hubby see while waiting for me - a walk in!!! Not for biometrics to be fair but for a PR with a question no appointment/infopass... Erm consistent much?

That is so true that there is really a no consistency about this process. A very close friend of mine for example. His AOS was completed in less than two months. Everything happened very quickly, he did a walk-in for Bio I think It was october 9th. His EAD approval came in two weeks and interview letter right after for November 18th. If I am not mistaken he filed his paperwork like September 24th, I guess.

Istanbulls, you know what would be an interesting addition to the spreadsheet - Days from "Bio done" to "EAD approved" would be interesting to finally get an idea of whether doing a walk-in actually speeds up the process... think you can add that in please?

Shani that's great idea. I just added that column, that will give us some idea. Hopefully we start to see some EAD approval so that we can get a better idea if walk-ins help to speed the process. :)

Hey guys, just saw it in the September AOS forum... at interview stage they ask to see both your ID's / Driver's licences to make sure you have the same address on both... We sent in a page with both my husband and mine's DL copied on it for the I-130 Bonafide marriage evidence part as we were trying to look for things with both our addresses on, lol...

but I know newly-wed couples will often forget to change their ID's/DL and thought I would mention it here if any of you has forgotten and not change it yet, I see they actually ask you to pull it out and show it at the interview, Very smart! also house keys and they match them up to see if they're the same, haha, I love it !

I know newly-wed couples will often forget to change their ID's/DL and thought I would mention it here if any of you has forgotten and not change it yet, I see they actually ask you to pull it out and show it at the interview, Very smart! also house keys and they match them up to see if they're the same, haha, I love it !

We sent in a page with both my husband and mine's DL copied on it for the I-130 Bonafide marriage evidence part as we were trying to look for things with both our names at the same address, and thought the DL ofcourse is better proof than say a magazine subscription - We're not gonna subscribe to some new magazine just to show same address, come on! And besides, if I'm gonna subscribe to a magazine it would probably be for some woman's magazine and my husband for the GQ or something, how funny would it look to have both our names on such a magazine? stupid I think.

DL and joint financial statements is far better proof I'd say and we already had that...

Which brings me to a point... certain things that USCIS requires as good bona fide marriage proof we're not gonna have, for example probably not the joint lease/mortgage - or we might by then, not sure yet, as the place we're renting is going under foreclosure, and I signed this lease before my husband moved in.

Also, we're not gonna have joint medical insurance as I get it far cheaper being a student and it would cost us more per month combining it.

My husband and I have decided that we're not gonna jump through loops trying to come up with this stuff and taking more money out of our monthly budget needlessly to come up with this "proof" for immigration, we'll do what everybody else does and just do what's financially feasable for us and makes sense.

In fact I think when people go crazy and get all sorts of needless things - like magazines, store reward cards etc. to proof same address, That raises flags for me about fraud... why all the effort and needless money spent if you have a legit marriage??

I'm majoring in law - real estate, but I'm seriously considering going into immigration law, it's just too damn fascinating and the stories are so real, and there's nothing I love more than reality tv, lol, I just can't peel myself away from VJ, especially the "Major Changes..." part, sheezzz those stories!!!

I think I'll have a really good time at work each day being an immigration lawyer, never a dull day, lol !

Shani you should totally be an immigration lawyer! So interesting and you could make a lot of money too. Plus you could totally relate to the immigrant.

It's kindof crazy all the things we get asked to show, I mean if it were 2 americans getting married - would you really add the name to the bills right away and run to set up joint accounts - sure at some point... I mean some of the utility companies when i've called to add my name have been like erm sure but sounded kindof surprised - you know?

We priced up adding me to my hubby's insurance, the policy was not great and was more expensive than my present one, plus didn't have dental etc like I have right now. Plus you were stuck with it for the next year and i'm going to grad school next fall (assuming i have my gc by then) and of course will want to switch to cheap student insurance. My hubby would have done it, but it didn't make any sense to take on a more expensive plan with less coverage.

How is everybody doing today? I checked my case status online, and still no updates since November 25th! At this rate, there's no way I'll receive my EAD by the end of the year/early January. Sigh.

This whole situation has driven me to drink. I'm sitting here drinking eggnog and I accidentally put in too much whisky, so now I'm totally tipsy.
