Still no new "touches" for me. Bah humbug! If I'd known this was going to be the case, I'd have waited to do my biometrics after getting my hair cut, so I'd at least have a cute picture on my EAD and green card. :-)

Awww! :star: I want to get my hair done too before biometrics - I definitely have the time (8 days to go - not that i'm counting or anything!) but moneywise am waiting to get it done nice for Christmas... Hmmm I wonder how flattering those USCIS cameras are.

I'm sure they'll get moving on your EAD soon... :star:

Hmmm I wonder how flattering those USCIS cameras are.

Ooh, trust me, they are not flattering. Maybe you will get a nice lady, like I did, to take your fingerprints/picture, though, who will show you your picture and let you change it if you don't like it. Mine was horrendous, but I realized it probably wouldn't look any better the second time around. At least this is only for the conditional permanent resident card, and I can get rid of it after two years!

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS

AUGUST 10 2004 - Arrived in Austin, TX with F-1 student visa status.

EARLY JAN/FEB 2008 - Met Michael (my future husband) in the café where he works.

APRIL 12 2008 - We go on our first date. It lasted 2 days!

APRIL 13 2009 - Got married in Marfa, TX, in the middle of the West Texan desert.

NOVEMBER 4 2009 - Finally saved up enough money to send off I-130; I-485; I-131; I-765.

NOVEMBER 5 2009 - Package arrived at the Chicago Lockbox at 9:32 a.m! Signed for by A. Analakis. [DAY 1]

Still no touches for me either. :( I feel like we'll have to wait for a while to see a new update. I was really excited when I saw one touch after another in two days. But hey, I think we should still be OK. :)

Touches mean updates. When you log in your account on uscis.gov., you can check your case status. Every time USCIS updates yor case, it is called touches.

Hey Noirdior,

It all depends on your local ASC. Some allow walk ins, others don't. Mine unfortunately told me they will not take anyone early. But others were a lot more lucky. It's worth a try if the office isn't too much out of your way. Good Luck :thumbs:

I received my Biometrics appointment letter today, woop woop!!!! It's scheduled for 10 December @ 2pm, 20mins down the road, yay!!

My hubby and I were planning a leisurely day for tomorrow since we're both free from school/work... going for a nice long bike ride then I might convince him that we should try and get this bio app. out the way by attempting a walk-in... atleast also if it fails it does fall on a convenient day and time when I don't have class... and final exams coming up next week!

Marie, our bio app dates are so close! My pleading letter that I had to send for the AP document application must have worked wonders, yay!

That is a great news. It is exciting to hear new updates. :)

Also, It would be great if you can do a walk-in. I did mine the day after I received the letter. I had a day off and took advantage of it. :) Good luck!

I like these "touches" it usually means a piece of paper should be received in the mail shortly after, yay!

Dang, you girls were spot on about complaining about your hairdo's etc., lol... I defintely wanted to get to the hairdresser's before the bio app... oh well as someone mentioned before, it's just a temporary card, and I'll just suck it up and make the best of the hair situation tomorrow and get it over with, lol

You might as well attempt a walk-in tomorrow if you have the day off and if the appointment center is so close to your place. It doesn't seem like you have much to lose really. Congratulations, once again, on receiving that letter!

oh no! my I - 485 was put on hold because theyre requesting me for initial evidence. I logged onto my account online it says the same thing without letting me know what they want specifically so i may be prepared to do this rapidly grrrrrr i bet ya i can get any of their jobs and do it better. stupid gringos grrr sorry freinds im just bummed about it but oh well. I hope all is good for you!

oh no! my I - 485 was put on hold because theyre requesting me for initial evidence. I logged onto my account online it says the same thing without letting me know what they want specifically so i may be prepared to do this rapidly grrrrrr

Awww Noirdior, Sorry to hear that, that sucks. I'm sure the RFE will be something easy to solve. Most seem to be I-864 related. You might want to look through the October filers thread to see what some of their RFE's were. Hope you get the mail soon... Waiting for it - is probably the worst part :wacko:

Nov 9, 2012 Case Touched, NOA date

Nov 13, 2012 Got text/e-mail with case number & the check was cashed :)

Nov 14, 2012 Case updated online to say biometrics apt. notice is on its way!

Nov 16, 2012 Received NOA & biometrics apt. letter

Nov 28, 2012 Biometrics apt.

Jan 4, 2013 In line for interview!

Jan 5, 2013 Scheduled for interview!

Jan 10, 2013 Received interview letter

Jan 19, 2013 Received yellow letter dated 1/16 asking me to bring more passport pics to the interview

Feb 11, 2013 Interview

Mar 8, 2013 Got an online update - oath scheduled!

Mar 13, 2013 Oath letter received

Mar 22, 2013 Oath! Officially an American citizen!
