So how random I just checked online and it said my I-130, I-765 & I-131 were all updated this past Friday 27th.

Nothing for the I-485 though.

Kindof surprised as I was expecting my case to just sit there until after biometrics... Glad they're working on it though :star:

Wish I could say the same. Checked online today and my case hasn't been touched since Wednesday. I had a "touch" the same day as my biometrics, and one the day after, so I thought it was "All systems go", but apparently not. :-(

Just received our e-mail that the NOA (hard copy) is on its way. It also had our receipt number included.

Should we be concerned that our file was routed through the National Benefits Center for processing? Does this mean that our local office will not touch it?

I notice that at least one of the October filers who did their walk-in on the same day as us has already received his/her approval notice for EAD. When I saw that, I wondered why they weren't working on mine, but it's probably because they filed way before me. Makes sense.

As soon as I hear something, I'll post on here to let you know.

I don't think that matters. At least the address on all four of my NOA's was the National Benefits Center in Lee's Summit, MO. Maybe that's just where all the NOA's are sent from?

Yeah I saw the same thing as well. What I am thinking is that even though we did a walk-in, it may not speed the process. From other months, I have seen that their EAD/AP approval come in after their actual Bio Appointment date although, they did walk-in.

hey every1!!!

I just got all my papers sent back to my, received them this morning

Due to my stupidity  , one of the checks was for the wrong amount. That's the one for I-130.

And the other one, I wrote out for the amount of $1010 (I-485 filing + biometrics), but they returned, saying, that IT'S RIGHT TO DO 2 different checks - one for the $930 (I-585 filing) and $80 (biometrics fee). Though on the forum I saw that people wrote just one, like I did the first time, and the docs were accepted.

Also, my form I-765 was outdated, though on the site it's said, that previous are acepted. :protest:

My thoughts, that the person, who got my papers decided to save us some money, cause if they accepted I-485 without I-765, we were gonna have to file I-765 again and pay ove $300. :energy:

Yes, I have noticed that, too, but I've also noticed that some people do get their EAD card before their original biometrics appointment. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it really. I am really hoping that I'll at least get the EAD approval notice by Friday December 11th, as I will possibly have an interview the day after, and I'll need to prove that I'm authorized to work in the US.

I'm sorry to hear they returned your stuff to you. It's easy to make mistakes during this whole immigration process, as it's complicated and there a lot of little details to take into account. I particularly feel for those of you who are not native English speakers, as that must make things even more difficult. I'm fluent in French and German, but even still I'd hate to have to wade through lots of complicated immigration paperwork and try to understand the jargon in either of those languages.

That is kinda weird they said they needed two separate cheques for filing I-485. I just sent one, and my stuff got accepted no problem. Doesn't it even say you can do that in the instructions to form I-485?

hey every1!!!

:energy:

In my case, also I sent one check and I have not seen any indication on the instructions that you need to send 2 different checks.

Just received our e-mail that the NOA (hard copy) is on its way. It also had our receipt number included.

Should we be concerned that our file was routed through the National Benefits Center for processing? Does this mean that our local office will not touch it?

Congrats you guys! Mine are at the NBC too I think... It's normal I read about it on another thread a while ago (somewhere on the October filers thread I think)I have case numbers starting with MSC and all letters were in envelopes for Lee's Summit, MO. I looked at the post marks at the time and the NOA's were mailed from a Chicago zip code (despite the envelopes saying Lees Summit) but the biometrics was mailed from a Lee's Summit zip code... Yes I know I am crazy to have checked - I clearly have way too much time on my hands!!!!!

Dirtyweebesom and Istanbulls - fingers crossed for you both that you get updates soon...

Awww Pappillon that sucks, so sorry to hear it was sent back.

I think since your I-130 check was wrong, they didn't accept the I-485 as the I-130 has to have been filed either before or at the same time, for you to be able and eligible to file the I-485. I think on the I-485 eligibility to says something along the lines of `your relative has already filed an I-130 for you or you are submitting the I-130 concurrently (at the same time as the I-485.)' If that makes sense, By them not accepting the I-130 they probably can't accept the I-485 as it messes up the eligibility thing.

Also even if they'd accepted your I-485 you could have still refiled the I-765 for no charge you'd just have needed to attach a copy of your I-485 NOA to your I-765.

Good Luck with refiling... and again sorry to hear that happened to you  Hope you get to refile really soon :star:

I also did the $1010 check for I-485 - no problems...
