I hope we get approved real soon too! The waiting is killing me. What sucks is that our I-130 was cancelled due to USCIS error initially. That cost us a month right at the beginning. Hopefully, CSC will start churning out some approvals before Christmas. If not, it's gonna be in January. I really hope they wake up soon.

Ok, so we got the NOA1 and I was able to log on to the USCIS website with the receipt #. The last updated date shows up as 12/1/2009 - is that what is referred to as a 'touch'?

It was covered in post 78 above....the last updated date will change for a "touch". I got a touch on ours 24 Nov 2009 because they approved my request for expedited processing. We will see if that helps at all though.

I'm not sure if they notify you when there is a touch, because the date of my touch was the same day I signed up for notifications. When you log in, what is the day where it says "last updated?"

The last updated of our case is November 17,2009, and we got the NOA1 on November 16,2009.

You need to sign up first, then sign in, get into "My Portfolio". You are able to find "last updated", "form number" and "form title" etc.

After reading your first post I checked my account for about the 200th time since mailing the package and it looks like they cashed my check this afternoon! I can't wait for my NOA1 to show up.

I'm still waiting for NOA1/check cash - sent my CR1 packet in 11/23

OH and I didn't use any clips, staples, etc. just paper in order with cover sheet- Will there be a problem with this?

Sorry...Yes you have to check online. They dont send you an e-mail with every touch as far as i know. I did receive an email, but like i said I requested expedited processing. They said it was approved, but the file wasnt at CSC yet.

SIGN UP for updates first. It's somewhere on the left side of the uscis.gov homepage. And then you may sign in to your account using your username and password. Not the case #.
