Wonderful! Enjoy your surprise lunch and your last day of work. Safe travels coming home- you've waited a long time for this. Congratulations!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Beginning my 3rd week here and loving it very much, it is well worth the frustrations. We always knew it would happen we just wondered when, well the wondering is over.

The POE was very easy and quite simple to do in Ottawa. Went to the airport at about 10:00 and had breakfast with my daughter and since the plane was leaving at shortly after noon I went to the customs area at 11:00 not knowing how long it would take and spoke with the officer there and said it took a while to get there and look at the computer and said it seems you had some issues and at that I broke into a smile and said yes it seems. Then I was taken into secondary by officer Garcia who took the two envelopesand did his thing and a few questions only one I remember because the manner he asked the question were more like having a conversation with a friend than being questioned by an official. The question I remember was about where I was going to live in Kansas because in 2006 our address was in Dodge City and now in 2009 Sharon was living in Garden City and that was no problem, the hour in secondary pasted as if only 10 minutes had gone by. I knew everything was alright when he staples the I-94 in my passport. He explained the need to be married within 90 days and other paperwork that needed to be done also and asked if I had any questionsand all I could ask is am I good to go and he said yes and pointed to the way out.

By the time I got to the gate to check the boarding time is was time to board and I was was very ready and made my way to the plane. The flight was never ending, Ottawa to Chicago, wait and then Chicago to Kansas City, wait and then Kansas City to Salina, wait and then Salina to Garden City and home. I got to Garden City and as I walked into the terminal Sharon was walking in also the timing couldn't be better, Sharon's daughter and 4 grandchildren arrived 5 minutes later, had the plane been on time they would have had a 20 minute wait for me but the timing was perfect I had a few minutes of hugs and kisses with Sharon before we all went to have something to eat.

I have one question what is wrong with the food down here? I eat a big meal and am hungry 20 minutes later as if I hadn't eaten for days and gassed up since I got here as if I had eaten a large pot of baked beans on a daily basis.

I would like to thank everyone that has put up with me and my problems over the past years, we wouldn't have made it this far with you and your encouragement, each one of you is the best there is and better people and friends can't be found.

We love you all more than you will ever know.

Wow. That WAS a long trip, wasn't it, Ron?

So glad to hear you are finally here, and are doing well. There are a lot of additives in the foods here, so that might be your problem. Also, your body might be adjusting to the change of water...... it will have a different mineral content. I know quite a few of us got sick not long after we arrived. New germs/pollen/water, etc. It passes. Just like your gas. (Okay. I couldn't resist that. )

So glad you're finally "home" Ron! You must be overjoyed! I am overjoyed for you two! Sounds like you had an endearing welcoming committee at the airport as well!

No need to thank us for "putting up with you"? We're here for each other, through thick and thin! Just as you were for all of us.

Will you be married before Christmas? Give thanks this Thanksgiving for all the joys that abound in your life right now!

Don't know how much you read of other threads here, but it appears that the "mean lady from Montreal", was fired!!!
