Just got the interview date in Rio, Jan 7!!!

One thing that wasn't clear to me in the instructions was how my fiance will get the visa after the interview, and how long it takes. It seems from some of the timelines that it is about one week. Is this through the mail?

Thanks for the help!

Congratz..

Interview could be very fast or very long. We can't predict, but as soon is over the consul will inform your fiancee the result. When approved, he/she will keep her passport and ask to pay a tax for the return of her passport. At this point, they will stamp it with the visa.. Time to received passport? about 10 days if regular mail, unless you fiancee pays for faster service.

Hi there,

This is what happens there:

During the interview, the Consul will tell her "(...) your visa is approved, congratulations. Go get your green paper with the attendant to have your passport delivered.". The same attendant that was there from the beginning checking your papers and giving you instructions, she will give you the green paper and tell you to go downstairs at the TNT post office - the company inside Embassy which delivers all visas.

The TNT attendant will get the green paper and ask you to fill a form with your full address and pay the tax. As far as I remember, to São Paulo it costs R$24,00. I live in South, and it was R$48,00. I live very far from Rio and she said it would take 15 days but it took 3 days and no express or special shipment. My friend Vivian, in São Paulo, got her 1 day before I got mine.

It's just one week, all girls that I've talk about it got them in just one week from the interview date.

My interview: 10/15/2009

Passport delivered in my house: 10/22/2009.

Best luck, don't panic and it's not that bad as it seems. Just try to do not expect it to be soft and nice, that's not their jobs ;)

Beinha

My life is perfect now, I'm here with my love and everything is great! I feel blessed, thank you God for all your plans, they are way better than I could have ever asked for.
