My husband has an interview in December 20 at the embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. I wouldn't be attending to the interview.

But, I wanted to write a letter to the consulate that will be interviewing him and just explain to him how this last year has been and all. It will be about one page.

Do you guys think that this will help him or make it easier for him to get a visa?

Will it work at all, me writing a letter to the consulate?

USCIS STAGE

June 1, 2009…I-130 Packet sent to USCIS

June 11, 2009…Got NOA #1

July 30, 2009…Got NOA #2 (YA ALLAH)

NVC STAGE

August 15, 2009…Got NVC Case Number BGHXXXXXXXX

August 20, 2009…Paid AOS Fee

August 21, 2009…Sent in DS-3032

August 28, 2009…Paid IV Bill

September 1, 2009…Sent in AOS Packet

September 8, 2009…Sent in DS-230 Packet

October 23, 2009…Sign in FAILED!! WOO HOO!!!

October 24, 2009…CASE COMPLETED!!!

October 30, 2009...Got Interview Date!!!!!!!

INTERVIEW STAGE

November 13, 2009...Case forwarded to Baghdad (8809227350)

November 22, 2009...Case Received in Baghdad and Signed for by Caro at 3:00 PM

December 5, 2009…Medical Exam

December 20, 2009…Interview at the US Embassy In Baghdad, Iraq (YA ALLAH HELP HIM) APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!! Just need to get some papers in and will get Passport back.

January 25, 2010...VISA ISSUED!!!!

January 30, 2010…Visa in Hand (YA ALLAH WA AKBAR)

POE STAGE

February 5, 2010…POE at Seattle, Washington

DONE WITH THIS VISA #######! :)

I can't say for sure that it would help as the visa is granted based on eligibility not just need... However, since you cannot be there for the interview, I suppose that you can send a letter sort of as an affadavit of relationship saying how you love him and plan to live together and how much you mean to each other and how you would like to have been there but the situation etc... They might not consider it but I suppose it would not hurt.

Citizenship Process;

4/4/2013. : Oath! Now a U.S. citizen!

Since I did not enter a petitioner's affidavit during the initial filing period, my husband plans to write a letter of invitation-cum-evolution of relationship letter addressed to the CO to be presented at the time of interview. Can't hurt, I guess.

03/27/2009: Engaged in Ithaca, New York.
08/17/2009: Wedding in Calcutta, India.
09/29/2009: I-130 NOA1
01/25/2010: I-130 NOA2
03/23/2010: Case completed.
05/12/2010: CR-1 interview at Mumbai, India.
05/20/2010: US Entry, Chicago.
03/01/2012: ROC NOA1.
03/26/2012: Biometrics completed.
12/07/2012: 10 year card production ordered.

09/25/2013: N-400 NOA1

10/16/2013: Biometrics completed

In some consulate, they asked both parties to do a relationship timeline... maybe a letter like this will help. Ask your husband to present it to pre-screener. If the pre-screener returned it... ask him to volunteer it to the CO.

I mean... be proactive and not wait for them to ask for it.
