If you're going through VAN usually the interview is within 30-60 days of you sending your P3 in, they are very quick on their turn around.

DS-160 is required, its an online form you fill out and submit online and you have to print out 2 copys of the confirmation page as well as the full set of questions you answerd to hand over at the interview. I hope you printed it out.

As far as I know VAN isnt requiring it anymore, just MTL, but if you didn't print out a copy you can always just redo it and print it out just incase.

There is actually. Its here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=226460 . I think its a bit harder to find just because it seems there aren't as many people waiting for interviews in Vancouver and most of them seem to get through pretty quick whereas MTL keeps going from a wait time of about 2 months to 5 months. We have a whole range of people for November who will have been waiting as little as 42 days or as long (me...ew) as 136 days by the time they have their interview this month. The waiting sucks but if you ever want to make your self feel better about the time, just look at my timeline, or a few others who have been waiting for an eternity. It will come soon enough and then you will have your forever too! Good luck on a speedy interview!

A fellow Saskatchewan person, hello!! Grew up in PA, but parents now reside in Stoon!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

thanks any tips from anyone????...

tony

you mean for the interview? Um dress nicely, semi formal kind of thing. Always look the person in the eye, be there early, be prepared.. keep all your papers organized in a file folder so that when they ask you for items you can pull them out quickly. Only answer questions they ask and don't add extra info unless they ask you, basically short and to the point kind of answers. I think thats about it really.. other then that its pretty fluid and you shouldn't run into anything crazy.. just try and be calm and relaxed!

Hey Tony and Carol! You should hear something soon as far as an interview goes. Click on the Embassy reviews to see some from Vancouver. There has only been a few from there in the last few months. I went through Vancouver, and I'm from Saskatoon! *waves* Best of luck!
