We elect a Governor tomorrow here in the Garden State. After much procrastination masquerading as deliberation, my wife registered to vote on the last possible day (precisely 3 weeks ago from tomorrow).

But the question still remained, who to vote for? She asked me who I think she should vote for and I gave her my usual ambiguous and indecisive claptrap. On one hand, on the other hand. I bet it all sounded like blah blah blah. I guess it was. She asked a friend of hers, who she at that moment realized was a fiery-eyed partisan. Vote Democratic, she said. The intensity of her emotion made my wife uneasy and that evening she told me she might vote Republican. I wondered what would have happened had she asked one of my Republican friends instead.

Fast forward to this evening. She teaches at a private school. The school administration pulled the instructional and administrative staff together for a meeting at the end of the school day. Vote Christie ®, they said. Corzine (D) will shut this school down. They've been trying for months and we're fighting them! Help us out, vote Republican. And if you're a died in the wool Democrat who just can't do that, vote third party. Don't vote Corzine if you care about your jobs.

Now she's home, thinking about everything. Does she want to live in a state where insurance carriers are mandated to cover mammograms, or does she want a job?

The only thing she knows for sure is, it's time to look for another job.

I almost had to force Bren to fill in his ballot.... he did not want to vote. then I said "oh my god, this woman is ugly but I LOVE her scarf, I am making your vote for her"... That was it. He took the ballot, filled it in and gave me the envelope

Oh and we got a robocall from Bill Clinton himself... to tell us we should support our (dem) county freeholders. Uhh, what?? Bill Clinton is robocalling for them? Can you say Republican tsunami... they've never even had to campaign before.

Prediction: VJ wingnuts will be very happy tomorrow evening.

Private institution or not - that's pretty odd for them to word it like that in an official staff meeting.

A few times we've car pooled and I've seen a Christie cmapaign van intheir parking lot. I don't think it's much of a surprise.
