I'm sorry I'm posting this again but my topic got bumped down so quickly I don't think enough people saw it to be able to help.

Hey. I took the interview at the embassy and I thought it went really good. I answered all the questions honestly and everything but at the end of the interview, they returned my passport, told me they have all the information they need and that they'll notify me about the decision as soon as it's made. Should I take the returning of my passport as a bad sign?! If not, what does it mean? Because I have friends who applied before whose passports weren't returned to them until the decision was made...

It most likely means you are in AP, but you did not post enough information here for people to help.

What consulat etc.

But yes generally they keep your passport when they are going to issue the visa. Did they give you any other papers when they handed back your visa?

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thanks for replying.

I'm Lebanese, so in Lebanon. I didn't apply for immigration, I applied for a student visa. I gave them everything they need, everything my friends gave them along with other extra papers as well. One of my friends requested a translator as his English is not that good, and he still got the Visa... While I fluently answered all the questions in English. What might stop them from issuing it to me? And what's "AP"? And they didn't hand back my visa, I think you mean my passport, they also gave me the cheque I paid for the application, that's about it.

Yes I ment passport lol

AP is like extra processing. Most countrys go through that if they don't have strong bonds with america. They gave you back your cheque?? as in they didn't cash it or anything?

Giving us a hint as to what country it is would help. Returning the passport is not good...but may not be bad. It appears you are in AP and how each consulate handles trhat is up to them. Some return the passport others keep it. It would seem to indicate the AP will no tbe done quickly. If it will take several weeks they woudl return your passport so you are not withoutit ofr other purposes.
