It would be far more beneficial to increase education in the basics, English and math. A young girl at a local small store could not add together two amounts in her head. Knowing the sexual preference of a rhino really isn't going to help her very much.

It's not about teaching science, English also is involved in doing analytical work, compare and contrast...etc....science is good place to do that

HOwever, the point being you can start to use compare and contrast or whatever in different subject areas if you wish. But, we'll have another complainer from that perspective if there is. No matter what subject you choose to raise.

1. did he have permission from the curricula chief at this school?

2. if the curricula chief said 'ok' - then that's it.

3. if the curricula chief said 'ok - but issue parent permission slips first for this assignment, a week before' - did the teacher do it?

without any of the above being covered by that 'teacher', he is eligible to be on the chopping block. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS cover yer @ss. That's common sense - I can't believe he didn't even try to cover his @ss.

Cough Cough - it's the country YOU have, also (unless you've miraculously headed back to Oz for the duration of Your Fiber Optic Odyssey ).

Curricula is approved by the curricula chief. In some places - he's at the school - in other places, he's at the school district office. But - he does exist, solely to insure / ensure these problems don't occur. Stepping out of curricula is a BAD IDEA, always, irrespective of the motive.
