Hi everyone! I know it's a bit early, but since I'm a huge Christmas fan and thought there's definitely a bunch of others around here like me, I thought it might be neat to share what we're all planning on getting our SO's or little ones for Christmas :)

This will be our first Christmas with a normal, not Charlie-brown-like tiny Christmas tree, so I'm getting pretty stoked about it and have already started shopping. For David, I'm getting him a new keyboard since I sort of accidentally fried his nice new one a couple months ago with coffee; a DVD player since our old one has pretty much stopped working, and possibly this: http://www.extremebodyworkout.com/ as a "together" present because he seen it on tv a few weeks ago and really liked it, which will also give us a way to work out together :) The doggies are like kids to us, so they're getting their own stockings as usual, and I'll probably buy them a new bed and wrap it up to put under the tree.

Does anyone else buy the keepsake ornaments for each year? I found a few cute ones for 2009 online..here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/Reed-Barton-Annual-C...3542&sr=8-5 . I just thought they're a cute way to celebrate each Christmas together.

I also found one for "Our First Christmas Together" which technically was back in 2006, but I ordered it with the year 2006 engraved on it and have it ready to hang on our new tree.

What about everyone else? Anyone planning on going home for Christmas? Is anyone about to celebrate their first Christmas with their SO this year? If you're SO's don't read this forum, please spill on what your plans are for presents! (Might give the rest of us some neat ideas too, hehe.)

Um nothing? nothing crazy anyway -- Xmas is for the kids and stuff. I'd rather get him something nicer for his birthday or anniversary and stuff.

For xmas, we just bake a lot of stuff, hang out and we also get to play with all the toys!!!!!

:D

not really bah humbug but meh, it's xmas it ain't no big deal on the gift front. I'm usually just thrilled with some time off and to be home.

My very humble opinion, fyi...

When my husband do get to spend time together, we end up getting each other like 1 or 2 presents. Generally practical things that we both need. Wants are for birthdays and what not. And then we tend to go see 2-3 movies and we cuddle in the theater! But I'm going to send him like a 50 page scrapbook I've been working on since we got together. =] It chronicles our meeting in 2004 and our friendship, etc. It's lame but heck. LOL

I've promised to spend Christmas here in CO since Bill came up to Canada last year to spend it with my family and me. We haven't missed a Christmas together since 2005 (and even then we spent New Years together). I was nice in 2007 when I flew out to CO for the week before Christmas, then on Christmas day we flew up to Canada and spent the rest of Christmas day and New Years.

I have some ideas of what he wants, but I'm not to sure what I'll be getting him yet. Since he reads the forum every now and then I can't really say much! We always go a little to far as far as Christmas gifts are concerned, or at least, he always goes a little to far. I'm 2007 I got NASCAR tickets and a trip to California, it was great :P We are both little kids at heart and go Christmas crazy. I don't think Christmas is just for kids, it can be for us big kids too! I don't think that will ever change. When we have kids we'll probably go even crazier.

Oh I am looking forward to this! I have been in NZ for 16 years, and December is in the middle of summer. So it's hot, and not at all Christmassy to me, and I could never really quite get in the mood. I usually ended up working, as there were a lot of junior people on the Watch that had small kids, and it didn't matter to me so I swapped with somebody almost every year so they could be at home.

I was at Joann's the other day, and spent ages looking at the decorations, to my husband's entertainment :star:

As far as shopping, I have got the things I need to send away bought I just need to wrap them and get them in the post this week. I have no idea at all what to get the little man ..but I am going to have fun looking

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Hi Everyone,

Is it christmas already?.....Lol....Halloween was just yesterday (literally)....Time goes by so quickly, doesn't it....

Hmmm..I'm still in halloween mode...but let's see...

I'm probably going to get D, my husband, the following for the holidays...

1) Ant promises never to speak to D about immigration again (which he finds annoying) after becoming a US Citizen (hopefully before Christmas)...

2) Our usual "Ant and D" homemade ornament that I make a new one every year to put on our special 'over the border' tree...

3) A VCR (man, do they sell those anymore?), as our old one broke when we moved, and he wanted a new one to record his football games with...

4) Homemade dinner...turkey, trimmings, and all....

5) Homemade card....yeah I make one of those every year too....

6) Maybe some other fun surprise..Anything else..I can't think of at the moment.....

Since this is our baby's first christmas, we plan to get hiim the following for the holidays...

1) A cute "baby's first christmas" flannel/fleese onesie that we bought already

2) Some baby rice cereal (too young to eat anything else at 4-5 months..)

3) Maybe some other fun surprises...Anything else...I can't think of at the moment..

Everyone else- Christmas cards, greetings, maybe a meal or two, and anything else I haven't thought of yet...

(shh...Just don't tell anyone else that I'm getting those things..It's a secret between me, and everyone else on vj...;))

But the most important thing of all about Christmas/The holidays- To spend time with loved ones, with or without presents! Their "presence" is the best "present" one could ever get!.....

Ok..now it's your turn, what are your holifay presents? Time to go shopping!

Happy Early Holidays/Christmas, everyone!

Ant

I can't wait for Christmas....I love it. I am sad that I won't be spending it with my family, but I am beyond excited to be spending my first on with my SO. I love giving gifts, but I still haven't decided what I am going to be getting....his BD is right at the beginning of Dec so I will have to pace myself. We are thinking of getting married in FL, so I was thinking of paying for all the kids (nieces and nephews) to go to Disney as their Christmas present.

My honey and I aren't yet together but I love Christmas so I'm taking his christmas present to him when I go visit him in 6 days. We're putting all of our money into savings for the wedding and for living expenses after the wedding so we promised not to get each other anything too awfully expensive.

*I made him this journal that has letters in it for every day up until I go see him. Decorated it and everything!

*I'm also getting him the newest season of American Dad since he seems to love that show. Every time I talk to him and it's on, he's watching it. But it always seems to be re-runs(I guess since he's watching it on some Vermont TV channel that kind of reminds me of the WB), so I'm getting him the newest season of it that way he doesn't have to watch the same ones over and over.

Yay christmas!
