New job after case is complete

Hello Everyone,

My husbands CR-1 interview is less than 2 weeks. At the same time I just started a new job. So NVC had my old employment info and sent the package to the embassy. Should I send my husband an affidavit of support application along with a new employment letter? I called NVC and they basically said it's up to me at this point, as though it really doesn't matter. Has anyone experienced new employment after their case has been completed?

Your case was approved based on your previous employment. I don't think a new AOS is necessary at this point. Your last 3 years of tax transcripts and the 6 months worth of paystubs you submitted for the AOS was the requirement to satisfy the approval.

However, an employment letter might not be a bad idea just in case he is asked about your current employment. He can state your previous and present employer. Having an employment letter would just be icing on the cake just in case the CO tries to get a little feisty. But in all honesty, I don't even think it even matters at this point.

I would definitely send a letter from your current employer that includes your start date and your pay. If you get a paystub by then I would scan that to him as well.

I'd view it as an 'updated I-864', treat it as such, send in a NEW PACKET to your husband, have him show it on interview day.

if you new employment is a better job than your previous one.... I wouldn't worry about it....

Thanks for the replies everyone. I sent him an employment letter just in case. I agree since it's completed at NVC shouldn't really matter too much if the case is complete.
