Question about biometrics fees

Hi all, first may i say I have been living here in Minnesota for 3 months now, very happily married for the past 2 of those wonderful months. We found this forum so much help in the past. As always my wife and I have waited until the last minute and are finally getting our AoS package together to send.

We are filling Aos and the employment thing, the stated Biometric fee on each is $70.

Does that mean we need to pay 70 for each or just one?

Common sense would say 1, but as we are talking paperwork who knows..

could anyone help?

If you file I-485 and I-765 (EAD) together you only need to pay biometrics once. Add it onto the fee for the I-485 so its $395 in total (IIRC).

Yeah, I know, all too often with the government common sense does not apply, but in this case it does! You only have to pay one biometrics fee for AOS and EAD when you send them in at the same time. (Not sure if common sense still would apply if you sent the EAD application in separately, but one would think they don't need to do biometrics more than once.)

Dittos. I included the biometric fee with the I485 fee ($395), and then just paid the $180 I765 fee. Good luck!

The fee for the high-tech adjustment biometrics is $70.

There's no fee for the low-tech photo and index print for the EAD - don't know why they call it biometrics. Also don't understand why the I-765 information page on the USCIS web site indicates that a $70 might be involved, because there is not.

I remember someone said he/she did submit $70 for AOS and $70 for EAD but then USCIS returned one of the $70 (which I assumed the EAD's).
