hi guys i just recieved my green card today. i just wanted to know can i travel now outside of the usa with no problems and also are they going to send me in the mail my ssn card? i got an alien number card is that my social security card or do i recieve on in the mail????? im confussed and not to sure what to do thanks

Your GC allows you to re-enter the country and work. You need to go to your nearest SSA office w/ your GC and a 2nd form of ID to apply for a SSN/card.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

Moving from K1 progress reports to AOS from work, student, and tourist visas. In your previous post, you were not clear how you came here, but this seems like a logical conclusion. Please let me know if you in fact came to the U.S. on a spousal or fiancee visa instead.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

congratulations on your green card. yes you can travel in and out of the US with no problems. Getting a SSN/SSC is not automatic, you would have to apply for one.
