hi everyone, i'm new here in the last week and have raised this topic elsewhere on the vj forums but not had much response, so hope there will be some good feedback and some useful info here.

my NOA2 date at VSC was 18 sept but as of now, after 6 weeks, NVC say they still do not have the case number. we've tried all the usual things like speaking with an agent and not relying on the nvc automatic system, emailing a copy of the noa2 over to nvc at their request, trying to contact vsc or uscis (completely impossible by the way!!), and we are becoming very concerned about exactly what should be done next, or indeed what can be done, to get things back on track.

any comments, advice, details of similar experiences, etc etc would be appreciated.

many thanks for your help!!

I think contacting a congressman would be quite helpful. I did when mine was stuck at NVC for additional processing. Find their website and submit an email... most of their websites have a facility for that. In your email, give them the case number that you have, explain that you are attempting to obtain a fiance visa, and your paperwork appears to be in some sort of limbo at the moment. Tell them you need to have it located and find out your NVC case number so that you can track it properly. Tell them you are on visajourney with others filing for the same visa, and you're aware that normally the transit time from the USCIS Service Center is quite efficient and therefore are concerned that they don't recognize receipt/don't have the case number, etc., after 6 weeks.

I had a person in my K1 forum where his paperwork did not show up within a reasonable time, and this helped him find it and move on.

Good luck!

if your case is not at the nvc by now, something is wrong, start with your congressman and senator, let them know what is going on, they will be able to help you, email them or write to them, it does not take 6 weeks for the uscis to send your case to the nvc, most likely uscis misplaced your files or lost it, and the only way to get back on track is thru your congressman or senator, also call uscis and try to speak to an immigration officer, dont listen to the customer service rep, they dont know anything, you can also make an infopass, that can help too
