Hey guys,

I just read on another post that there is no fee for the EAD if filed for at the same time as AOS.

Is this absolutely true??

I am sending out my AOS and EAD applications tomorrow and I'd LOVE to save $340.

Thanks again!

This is absolutely true. From http://www.uscis.gov/i-765:

Special Instructions :

If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, and you paid the I-485 application fee required, then no fee is required to file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

And NOW, I am goingto save you another $340! REALLY, and it is here, on the internet, it MUST be true!

The AP form is FREE also if filed with the I-485!!! A check for half the savings I just rendered would be appriciated. Make it out to me...my friends call me "CASH".

I remember reading the AP application a while ago, thinking it would be nice to be able to leave the country while waiting for my green card. But after reading, I got the impression that you must actually have a reason for leaving the country before applying and that it's probably best to stay in the US until receipt of green card if possible. Am I correct?

Oh, I see, trying to weasel out of sending me $170

No, there is no reason needed for a K-1 to apply for an AP and if you have it there is no problem in traveling out of the country. You will get a 1 year AP good for multiple entries. It is free and a simple form, so why not?

Oh, so just answer something like "unknown" when it asks for date of departure and length of stay?
