Hey all, NVC is holding our case for my husband's passport pcc. He is going to go get it on Tuesday. In order to save time, I was going to have him scan it in to me, and I take a color copy and overnight it to NVC. Now the question is, does the pcc have a raised seal on it, therefore the scanned image would be useless? I know the district pcc, the letterhead was raised a little. Thanks for your help.

Maybe you can just send the package in with the district PCC and add a letter saying that the passport PCC will be made available at the interview? Is that possible?

not for delhi. i tried that. it works for mumbai, though. they have the packet at nvc right now, and said everything is perfect except that. so now as it stands, it does not look like we will make the cut off for december interviews. but i believe in miracles :D

That is interesting, because I called two days ago and talked to NVC and the lady I spoke with told me that I would simply have to send a copy of the pcc stamp on the passport as well as a Police certificate from the district office. Then i called yesterday and a different person told me that i don't need the pcc and that all i need to send is the police certificate....can anyone help me out? thanks.

And guess what...I just called them again, and in fact I do need to send the passport copy as well...I wish all the agents there had the same information......

And i also asked if just regular copy (i.e. scanned) would be sufficient and the answer was yes, so you should be okay....

But i do have a question for you kaushalia...did you send an original birth certificate for your husband?

yeah, they do have his original birth certificate. the pcc is the most annoying part to me, simply because it is different for people within the same country. just depends on the consulate. and they only need the passport pcc if your passport is over 6 months old. my husband received his in 2007. so you think i can print off the color copy and overnight it? that would save us so much time because i can get it there overnight.

Its kind of scary sending the orignials....but i guess you gotta to do it. You are right about the 6 month passport issue deal...which makes no sense to me. But I've talked with NVC about 5 times now asking the same question: whether you can submit copies of both passport and district office PCCs and they told me "yes" every time. So you should be fine with the photocopy. Hopefully my wife gets both of the PCCs by end of next week and then i can send in my DS-230.....best of luck to you and keep us posted on how things work out with you.
