I called Senator Elizabeth Dole's office to talk about the CSC. I spoke with an immigration attorney Ms Armstrong about the K-1 process and she was so nice to me. She is going to inquire about my petition after I fax her a privacy statement. She said that she thinks I should get an NOA 2 by the end of the month because they received my RFE on 7/3 and my received date is 3/30. She told me that everything will be ok and that this process normally takes 8 months to a year from start to finish. I am at 4 mos now so hopefully it will go by fast from here. I told her about the poor customer service at the CSC and she said that they are trying to improve on the system. Soon the CSC will only be handling K-1 and K-3 visas. This should help. So everyone please pray for me and if you have any problems please call your senator cos they are willing to help.

It all sounds good, it won't be long now for the approval!

BTW, how do you know that CSC will only be doing the K-1 and K-3 visas? When is this suppose to happen? What happens to cases like mine, the CR1? Don't tease us girl...give us the low down!

That statement sounds a bit like a disclaimer. If you look closely at the VJ timelines, K1's generally DO NOT take 8 months to a year...that is absolutely ridiculous. They usually take 2-4 months TOPS for an NOA2, which is the sitiuation we are specifically dealing with at CSC...that they have created a much longer timeline and refuse to make progress let alone give information about the situation. Also, how does she know you'll 'probably' get an NOA2 by the end of the month? I'm really not trying to be an instigator here...but that is a total assumption unless she has spoken to the one person at CSC who is adjucating your case. CSC has never released any information like this, even to Senators or Congressman about the estimated times for NOA2's to be released based on NOA1 or RFE return.

Make sure that this Senator follows through with progressive action, including inquiries and a case directly to CSC. It is the only way to truly apply pressure to get the process moving!

Joseph, if you had been around last year you'd notice that everyone who filed to the CSC between July and september took well over 5 months for NOA-2, heck there was a 6 week period that the processing timeline never changed.

While 8 months to a year for a completion is a bit on the high side, 6 months to 9 months is realistic for those on the west coast.

Just be glad they didn't send your paperwork from CSC to VSC and back without doing anything like they did mine. Of course I kinda blow all the timelines away!

7-6-2005 Sent paperwork to CSC

7-13-2005 NOA-1

12-27-2005 Called about out of process

1-3-2006 Response sent

2-3-2006 Called because response never made it, started out of process again

4-5-2006 Called again because nothing has happened got the response "nothing has changed"

4-11-2006 Emailed CSC

4-12-2006 Emailed Congressman

4-13-2006 Got response from CSC stating that the file has been requested for processing (Hopefull yeah!)

6-30-2006 Exchange email with CSC--file is being processed contact again in 30 days

7-30-2006 CSC no longer accepts email

8-21-2006 NOA-2 Fantastic!

9-8-2006 NVC supposedly sends to Embassy

10-4-2006 Embassy doesn't have paperwork yet?

10-11-2006 Interview set for 10-25-2006
