hi all.. sorry ive been AWOL.. but today i got a case complete.

things havent been so great recently really. its been stressful and ive been trying to ask my hubby to get a job because im not willing to live with his parents forever when i get to the states, but he just doesnt want to work. its beginning to really get to me, and i cant even talk to him about it without him getting mad, or thinking i am picking on him.

on top of this, i am in so much debt here in australia that i cant possibly leave the country and move to the usa, without a husband supporting me.

anyway, on top of that, my nanna has only a few days to live... and i am considering staying in australia longer to get my finances sorted out and my sh*t together so to speak, and then move.

hubby is depressed, i am anxious, and today, we have a case complete but i cant say i am over the moon about it considering the circumstances.

thats why ive been quiet. im really confused and scared of my future now.....

anyway.... i also feel like i have no one to talk to about it... in real life i mean.. its so hard.

well anyway, ummm... yeah. case complete.

oh also.... i got a call from the tax office today and it turns out i havent lodged a tax return for 2006 which they are on my back about.. so i gotta lodge that soon too!

one more thing... if i get an interview in december, can i postpone it at all? i really cant afford to move to america as soon as i thought, and i wondered if i can either postpone my interview OR have my interview then stay in australia longer after my interview is done?

how long do i have before i have to move, once my interview is done, i mean....

Hey Donna!

Aus is a SUPER fast consulate, if / when you do get assigned an interview, you can ask them to defer it and get rescheduled in the next batch, in like 2 or 3 months or less and then you can have 6 months to activate your visa.

If I may say? And this is just me here, but I worked really hard this year and paid off all my debt and saved money. My husband has a good job but I couldn't handle the t hought of us starting our life together and me in a 'new' country with debt on my back. It just feels like I'm more in control nad have a very valid say in everything this way.

Just a thought. It's just me and how I did it but it's very liberating.

Good luck, okay?

Thanks lgg and I got your pm too...

Of course I agree with you but with my husband refusing to work, and debt here for me, I'm not going anywhere any time soon....

He just doesn't get it.

Why? I have no idea....

It's not that I'm in a lot of debt but when I get to the USA I'm going to need the feeling of support and I won't have that if he's not willing to work.

Ugh.... I can't talk about it, I'm too upset.

Congratulations, Donna! I am so happy for you!

I hope you feel better, hon. I know how hard this process has been on you. You've got six months after the visa issuance, so take some time for yourself after you finish your interview. It will be good to not have this process on your shoulders, I think.

Much love.
