Hello everyone. I think most know my husband had his interview September 11, 2009. The CO said everything was good but we needed to send in proof of my domicile and pictures of us as proof of relationship. It took me a while to gather all my domicile proof but on October 21 i sent all the documents in to the Jerusalem Consulate. We got a call from them two days later asking questions already available to them like the DOB of his parents and so on...neways a few days later we got a call from Aramex saying we have a letter waiting for us from the JRS consulate.

My heart was beating 10000 beats per minute, i was so scared and nervous as to what it can be. I had a feeling it would be saying we are in AP... and also i was scared it would say my domicile proof was not enough. Neways the letter said your case is complete but we need to undertake some additional administrative processing. we will contacts you as soon as that is complete.

I knew this was coming....

My question is, does that mean all my proof was accepted? Such as domicile? If it was not, they would have mentioned that in the letter right? I just want to be sure that it was approved, because if it was NOT then i need to move onto the next step and get things done.

Thank you for taking your time to read this... any feedback would be appreciated.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Get your Senator involved ASAP--the sooner you have someone else in the government making inquiries, the better off you will be. I would also make sure to call them (and the DoS) periodically to find out what they are doing and if they need any additional evidence from you. (Generally, AP does not rely on that--and it could be that they simply want time to review the evidence you just submit.)

" I just want to be sure that it was approved"

It's NOT approved yet. You are still in AP and it could go either way.

Sorry to hear this. I wish for both your sakes it is a short AP. Keep praying, stay busy with your normal day to day routine to keep your sanity, email the embassy and call DOS bi-weekly.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

The dept of state can often tell you what stage of AP you're in, as it's rare that the embassy conducts background checks and/or other administrative processing. I'm not too well versed in the AP process, but I'm fairly certain that's the case.

Administrative processing sometimes entails that the file is sent to Washington for further background checks if deemed necessary. The DOS would have status updates and shares those if requested....the consulates are more often difficult to contact and even more ambiguous in their replies. Those in AP/AR do find that calling DOS eases their anxiety because sometimes they find out 'details' regarding the status of said AP/AR that they would not have known otherwise.

As for whether all your proof was acceptable or not, you never know until the visa is issued, I'm sorry. Once the AP is completed, the consulate will contact you with further instructions.

The posters above are referring to the Department of State visa office in Washington (202-663-1225), not NVC.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

How accurate is the information you receive from calling the Department of State? We've called 5 times, and received 3 different stories from 3 different people. One said your packet 3 hasn't been processed yet, one said that it has been processed, and one said that it was processed and the embassy was waiting for our DS-230 part 2......hmmmmmmm......not sure.......how accurate they are? How fast do they receive their information from the embassy? Immediately.....or days later? That is my question.......

My fiance on Nov 3rd had his interview and they wanted a court document, and they said as soon as we get it to mail it to them and then they issue the visa within x-days, so maybe once they receive the info, they make the visa shortly after...donno.

I call DOS every week and ask every week "at what stage of the processing are we?" Not one time has anyone ever been able to give me an answer to that question. The standard answer is always "we are sorry to inform you, your case is still pending in AP and we do not have any other information to offer you" I pray one day soon that we also hear, "your case is now complete and approved" and for you too.

i just wish they would COLLECTIVELY agree on what info they will give out for each case. I hate to hear different answers, it makes me feel like i was just lied to so they can get me off the phone!

Yeah, you will likely get the same canned answers, but the day will come when you call and someone might tell you your AP is complete. :)
