I've been visiting this forum a lot trying to process a green card for my husband. I am a green card holder, so it takes quite a while, but we finally starts the AOS part. I am finishing up the AOS part and will submit it soon. After reading the wiki article titled " How Do I Bring My Spouse (Husband or Wife) to Live in the United States?", I am confused about one of the steps in the beneficiary section.

In DS-230 he needs to provide a police report, but after 16 years old, he pretty much go in and out of many different countries. For example (He is 16 on August 1997):

June 97 - Sep 97 -> Singapore

Sep 97 - Dec 97 -> China

Dec 97 - Jan 98 -> Singapore and Indonesia

Jan 98 - June 98 -> China

then it is a lot of back and forth between, China, Singapore, Indonesia and some other places. There are only 2-3 different occurences that he stays in China over 6 months.

Other times, he may stay for 5 months, then leave the country. He used to travel with his father and mainly finish his high school in an international school in China.

Now, he's of Indonesian nationality, but since the requirement for police record is 12 months for country of non-residency, does he need a police record in China?

Also, after year 2000, until now, he has been in the united states. Starting with F-1, then OPT, then H-1 which is still valid.

Will he need a police report from the US? If he does, will it be from the Sheriff Station?

Thank you all!

Also to add on the first part of the question, because of his travel, there are times in between (more than 6 months) that won't be listed in the DS-230 because he didn't stay there for at least 6 months (i.e. he's 5 month in China, 3 days in Hong Kong, 1 month in Indonesia, then another 5 months in China)
