K1 visa revoked, but...

Another chapter...and it seens like good news, I guess...

Our lawyer contacted the U.S. embassy in Rio on Monday asking if they had decided anything because my fiancee and I were really sad about this whole thing and all this delay for them to answer. So on Friday, the U.S. consulate emailed our lawyer saying that the evidences were reviewed by the CO and he asked for a Police Report that I didn't have on my interview...I had one that day but it wasn't the same one they were asking, and they also wanted to confirm my phone number so I assume they're going to call me some time soon. I think it was a good sign that they asked for this Police Report because that's something required so they can issue the visa...and it was even better that they asked my phone number to our lawyer cause it probably means that I won't have to go for another interview...it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to, it's just that Rio is pretty far from here and it's an expensive trip...we'll see how it goes! Hopefully the Janie and Rodrigo's Visa Journey is going to have a happy end! :yes:

No telling, but from the way it sounds, it shouldn't be anything BAD. Perhaps they wish to confirm some detail or another, or confirm the biggest thing of all -- that you're still in a committed relationship after the time that has passed.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

They'll call when they call. Be patient, the fact they want more records and your number is a good sign.

I agree...I also thought it was good that they asked for the police records since it's something required to issue the visa. I don't think they'd ask for anything like this if it was a lost case. Only thing that sucks is that now everytime my phone rings I have "little heart attacks" but that's ok...hahahahahaha

I just hope it doesn't take like 3 more months for them to contact me!

They want to clear their files, too. And, consider this: Waiting for a consulate to call YOU is a high-class worry to have, si man!

Yeah...some people told me that they could bet our visa was approved since they asked for this police report but I don't wanna keep any high expectations after everything that happened.

And TBoneTX...let me ask you something...are you a LDU fan (the football team)? I'm asking because you're from Equador and I remembered that LDU brough me a lot of happiness when they beat Fluminense on the Libertadores League :lol:

Hahaha ... L cheers for Vitória, but one of our mutual friends is a huuuuuge Fluminense fan. Suuuuuuuuch a shame that the 2010 season doesn't start until AFTER our interview, because with my luck, the interview would be while Vitória was playing Fluminense, and I'd be dragged to the game by the two of them... and oooh would L owe me :rofl:

I just got a phone call from the US Embassy...

AND WE'RE APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yes:
