I'll probably wear my black jeans and my black t-shirt.

It's the dressiest thing I own... for the winter season.

I believe I wore dress pants, a nice top and flats. It definitely doesn't matter what you wear (as long as you're wearing something).

Whatever you feel comfortable and confident in!

I wore business casual - a skirt, blouse and jacket in muted colours. It was in March and still really cold out though. I wanted to look trustworthy, confident but not too obvious - hehhe, how's that!? I wore dress pants and a nice top in turquoises to my citizenship interview. I have always viewed dressing appropriately as being respectful of the situation.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hi Everyone,

In answer to this post's question abotu what to wear for an immigration interview:

For my AOS interview (during the fall/winter) a few years ago here in the USA (Buffalo, NY), I wore the following:

I only brought about 2 weeks worth or so of clothes (spring/summer clothes) when I came here for a visit and then got married (see my VJ timeline for more info). And of course, I didn't have enough clothes then, as I had left almost all of it back in Canada and couldn't pick up most my belongings while my case was pending....

So I wore what I had that looked decent enough to my interview: A white sweater (lol..which was the same sweater I got married in..no time for a formal wedding dress either when we spontaneously got married), a short sleeved pink shirt underneath (which I had bought while I was here), dark/navy blue jeans (thank goodness I had packed those), dark socks (ummm...I had to borrow my husband's larger sized socks), black dress shoes (thank goodness I packed those shoes too as I couldn't find a decent pair of shoes in my small size here), and the heart-shaped necklace I got on my wedding day (which I have now made into a keychain). My husband wore a dress shirt, brown dress pants, dark socks, and black dress shoes.

And yes, I/we was/were approved during the interview wearing those clothes......

It helped more though, that paperwork-wise we were adequately prepared (lol..umm..maybe a little too prepared, as we bought 2-3 bags of stuff with us) and the lawyer was there with us for the interview, rather than them focusing on what we both wore...

Hmmmm....Now I wonder: What should I wear for my N-400/Citizenship interview when the time comes for that in two weeks (November 18) for me? Should I more or less wear the same thing? Or should I wear something else that is suitable too?

Lol...I doubt that I fit in those 'skinny pants' or any of my other former clothes after pregnancy/post-patrum (yeah, the body certainly does change after one has a baby..lol...)....Any ideas for a 'post-pregnancy wardrobe' anyone?

Lol..What should the baby wear too? Any ideas for a baby wardrobe? (lol..yes, I'm bringing the baby with me too...)

Meanwhile, it's back to studying for the civics test, gathering the paperwork, wondering what to wear, and somewhat panicking...yikes!

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest of your immigration journey too.

Ant (What to wear for interview...hmmmm....)

My wife got an earful the other day at her medical about how you need to dress up at the interview, no blue jeans, need to wear dress shoes, slacks, etc...so, I know there have been quite a few interviews lately, the question is-

What did YOU wear to the interview?

August was mine, I wore Black JEANS  with some nice shoes and I wore a blue collard button up shirt with sleeves that went to my elbos, and it was rainning so I just had on a black jacket that was a light type. The woman at the window said I was dressed really nicely and looked fashionable :star:

- while I was there I saw alot of people wearing jeans and dressy type shirts. a dude in jeans and a flannel shirt  I saw a woman in pajama pants and a crusty looking hoody carrying a baby. I saw another younger couple with pajama pants on and just regular tshirts. there was a woman with a suit on.

so.. large variety? i would just suggest stay away from the pajamas... lol  ( whn i say pj pants i mean neon pink with unicorns. fleecy/flannel type material  )
