What to wear.....

My wife got an earful the other day at her medical about how you need to dress up at the interview, no blue jeans, need to wear dress shoes, slacks, etc...so, I know there have been quite a few interviews lately, the question is-

What did YOU wear to the interview?

My interview was in July, so I wore a pair of brown capris, wedge sandals, and a nice sleeveless top Fairly casual, but still a bit dressy

When my wife and I went we were pretty much the only people dressed up. I wore a shirt and tie, she wore a business-type suit. I figured it would be a lot better than wearing an Avs jersey or something and having the person be a Canucks fan and denying us.

Seriously though? I plan on wearing business casual -- why not, right? Comfortable but yet respectable with no team/political affiliations that could potentially set your interviewer off...

I did not dress up at all. I think I just wore capris and a regular old shirt. There were people dressed up, but I didn't bother going all out.

I interviewed in Auckland in February, so it was summer and pretty hot. I just wore linen pants and a blouse. Nothing fancy. They really can't see much of you there, due to the set up, waist high counter with a window in it.

I was just gonna wear a nice t-shirt and some jeans. Now if you cam in pantsless I can see them denying you, but apparently the interview booth is tiny and you have to stand, you think they'll be staring at your shoes the whole time? I hope not.

and by fashion I mean what can get away with at work that passes for BC and is on the fairly clean side.

Really about the booth, eh? I guess I'd thought it was going to be cop show styled interview rooms with two-way mirrors and a camera and stuff.

I will not dress up. In fact, if it was the summer I'd wear flip flops. I will wear a nice pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt and probably sneakers because those are the only close-toed shoes I own!

No suit, no dress pants, no silk blouse. I don't see how what I wear could effect my interview outcome. If I have all of my paperwork and look clean and presentable that is enough. I am sorry but I am not going to impress anyone but dressing up. I will impress them with all of my paperwork being in perfect order. I would not be comfortable if I dressed up.

My hair, however, will be flat-ironed and fabulous!
