Do you really think that the CIMT that is that old would deny you? What did the lawyer say? I couldn't imagine the NVC letting it go through if you did need a waiver...

Well, the NVC just collects the paperwork & sends it on to the embassy.

Yep, a CIMT that old will deny us. We should be okay once the waiver is filed, but you never know.

I keep praying for a miracle, but then have to reality check myself.

I know what you mean...but you can't give up hope!! That's and faith is what I am riding on!!

JustJ SO had an old infraction against him, so he needs a waiver so the embassy doesn't deny him...

I'm leaving behind 2 elderly parents who are both in poor health and a 12 year old autistic son. We all have to make tough decisions but it is our lives and we have to do what's right for us. I am moving from a country I love and you are leaving a city you love to go to an alien land. At least New England is similar to the UK but you are going somewhere totally different. How will you cope with all that sunshine and hardly any rain?

True, but that doesn't mean that we ignore the consequences our decisions have on others. And I'm sure that although they're sad to see you go, that your family are happy knowing that you're happy, knowing mine are makes it a little easier :)

Hehe considering a previous post of yours, I'm not sure how you'll cope in New England, perhaps you should have fallen in love with a Canadian and moved to Nova Scotia instead :P :P I have lived away from my beloved city before, but you're right, how will I manage with all that sunshine, and more importantly, the heat? The things we do for love, eh? :)

New England is so much better than the old one!

In April this year I had my bag stolen an hour after arriving in Boston. Everything was in it including my passport. I had to get an emergency passport from the consulate in Boston to get home. I phoned the consulate and got an American lady. She took my details and said someone would call me back. A little while later I got a call from an English guy. I have never been so relieved to hear an English accent! When you are in trouble in a foreign land it is very comforting to hear something from home. Even if they are English! The queen might be a waste of money but when I went in it was very nice to see the royal standard on the wall.

Diane was worried that I would never want to come back to America after that. It actually was the thing that made me sure I wanted to move. She had to work that day and I made the journey on 2 trains a bus and 4 subway trains to get there and back on my own and without any problems. It stopped making it feel like a strange scary place and became home.

One thing I did discover from it all was that the police are worse than useless and don't care at least the police officer we got was!

I'm leaving in the morning to go to Mass and I know I'm going to have the same problems I had the last time cos I can't check in online for the American flight and that happened the last time cos they have some kind of mark against my passport and nobody knows why!

Have a safe trip to Mass and you and Di have a great Thanksgiving!!

Thanks, Muslimqueen, that's very sweet of you :) I really hope that we (and everyone else!) make progress this week, whichever stage we're at! Although I must admit, that if someone's DS-3032 sent after mine is accepted before, I'll be really gutted, even though it'd prove that there really is no such thing as 'dealt with in the order that they are received'. :(

What a coincidence! Today my husband picked up the DS-230 package that I sent him...it finally arrived! So now we're just waiting for that IV bill. Honestly, if they said it takes 4 weeks, give or take a few days, to complete a certain step, in many ways it'd be easier than checking every single day, not knowing if you're the one that takes a week or the one that takes three plus. Ah well, patience is a virtue :P

Good luck, I hope you get your case complete by mid-December :)

Yes, I've got fingers and toes crossed at this point! Thanks, but even though we're a straightforward case, everything has taken longer than most on here, although there are of course some people that have taken much much longer. I really doubt we'll be done by mid-December, and think we're heading for a January case complete, even though most of the cases that transfered to NVC at the same time as us were done in November. Still, it could be worse, eg And_Sam has almost definite AP/AR to look forward to :(

I think were moving pretty fast just think the other thinks like DS-230 And (AOS) dont take that long its just the DS-3032 giving people trouble. they just got backed up like during nov. And what's AP.AR?

And how do you know if you have to do it?

AP is additional processing, and AR is administrative review, and I don't think that many people actually know the difference between the two (I certainly don't) but they both mean that the case takes longer at the embassy stage for more information / extra checks. It could happen to anyone from any country at any embassy, but embassies in certain countries are more likely to do so, eg Cairo.

And no, still no invoice. How about you?
