I'm so PO'd!! Turns out the postal service I've been using to send my husband random things changed it's service. So now I have to bring the package BACK to the post office, and probably NOT get my $30 postage back...I decided to just send it to my mother in law and then she can direct it from Nevada. But this is bs! >[ I hate Canada Post. And I just realized, I'd probably already have my CR visa had I applied for Philippines citizenship and my husband had applied for me there. LMAO.

Okay, done ranting!!

I know what you feel!! Try doing it from a MENA country :whistle:

Hoping to see lots of case completes next week & a bunch of interviews. Last month, the NVC was still sending out lots of packages the last week of the month, so I'm hopeful for everybody waiting.

I'm getting real nervous because our attorney doesn't have the waiver documents ready to express mail over, and our interview is Dec. 7th. Seriously, if I have to postpone this interview, I will blow a vein in my forehead. I guess you can file the waiver AFTER the interview, but....

Guess I shouldn't worry about it until it happens.

I also need a serious reality check, because I keep secretly hoping that we'll be approved on the day of the interview, even though I'm pretty sure a 28-yr old CIMT means an automatic denial. If we do need a waiver, we're looking at another 6-9 months before it is adjudicated.

NVC was more nerve wracking than USCIS

Totally. I didn't expect that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

5/21/09 - filed I-130

12/7/09 - Interview (denied for 28 yr old CIMT); filed waiver same day

6/18/10 - I-601 Waiver Denied, added misrep for checking wrong box on landing card (lifetime ban)

7/16/10 - AAO Appeal filed.

8/31/12 - AAO appeal sustained (THANK YOU, GOD FOR YOUR MERCY)

10/8/12 - USCIS sent file to Consulate

11/28/12 - Visa in hand

12/10/12 - HERE AT LAST! (ALL GLORY TO GOD!)

Do you really think that the CIMT that is that old would deny you? What did the lawyer say? I couldn't imagine the NVC letting it go through if you did need a waiver...

They gave us a RFE because of not having the arabic birth certificate even though the english one was certified...

As much as I would think the NVC is nerve wracking, I know the embassy will be the longest part for us...:unsure:

Remember you can't send your 230 until the bill is paid and reflects that it's paid on the website! But I don't know what an I-816 is, so maybe you're not a CR1...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Well, the NVC just collects the paperwork & sends it on to the embassy.

Yep, a CIMT that old will deny us. We should be okay once the waiver is filed, but you never know.

I keep praying for a miracle, but then have to reality check myself.
