I dont think they will be closed on Friday there closed on Federal Holidays and these are the Federal Holidays for 2009

Thursday, January 1 New Year’s Day

Monday, January 19 Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Monday, February 16* Washington’s Birthday

Monday, May 25 Memorial Day

Friday, July 3** Independence Day

Monday, September 7 Labor Day

Monday, October 12 Columbus Day

Wednesday, November 11 Veterans Day

Thursday, November 26 Thanksgiving Day

Friday, December 25 Christmas Day

I Hope its just 1 day for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Usually Christmas Eve ends up as a day off also for federal workers-it's given as an admin day off by the President (depending on what day it falls). Who knows what Obama will do this year, but it's not usually announced until the week of...

Oh, and Friday isn't a holiday but so many take it off!

Congrats Bern!!!!

Edited by FinnLove

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Woo Hoo! Have you been able to get in touch with your hubby and share the good news?

Yes! He's so excited but he hates that Canada is so backlogged. We're going to call and inquire about an earlier interview date, or we may have to expedite. I don't know yet, but we'd really like to be together like RIGHT when he get's back from his tour. D:

When will he get home?

Definitely include the cover sheet that you printed off after you paid the $70 fee. I would include all the pages of the paperwork. If you went to the website before you got the email get the form for the AOS, it would have a space on top of the paperwork for the barcode. You can go online and print out a barcode with your case number on it, or you can take a black sharpie and write the number on there yourself. That is what I ended up doing. Make sure you write the case number in the upper right hand corner of ALL paperwork you submit in the packet. I hope this answers your question!

Im sorry im still having a bit trouble understanding. After i Payed the (AOS) bill and i showed as PAID I followed the link and printed out the forms and the Recipet and the Cover sheet that has the address and case number on it.

So all i do is put the document cover sheet with the forms (even send the one's that just tell u want to do correct) and write my case number on top of all the papers of the form?

Correct, just send the cover sheet you printed (as it has the barcode on it) and put it on top of the package. Do not staple, use clips and write your case number on EVERY page...

When will he get home?

He has been deployed since March 2009, and he will be home in March 2010. It's been really tough...so I'm really glad that it's almost over. I'm used to seeing my husband every 2-4 months. I saw him last in July, I cried so bad when he crossed into US customs. More than I thought I would...anywho, enough reminiscing!

And I am officially apart of the case complete club!!

:dance::dance: Yay Bern!! :dance::dance:

Thank you so much dear. ^_^
