need help to call the embassy

hi to all , after i done my interview OCT 22 they asked me to send them my wife original divorced certificate cause they need it and then they will issue my visa , so i sent it to them last Sunday then i kept e mailing the american embassy in cairo to ask if they get it or not they keep telling me they didnt get it yet ,, so i called the DHL company to ask then they told me yes the embassy receive it Monday morning and you can check it your self online with your shipment number , then i did and they were right it says the embassy received it Monday morning and i sent this page to the embassy too as PDF file but still get the same mail from the embassy telling me they didnt get it yet so i called the counslar secation in this number 27972200 they said we cant answer any question on the phone you must e mail us and not let me ask ... i tried also the other number which is 090070600 but they didnt know either so please if anyone on here knows an excat number to check the visa statue and asking how the DHL says that my documents arrived in the embassy and they said we didnt get it yet , i'm so confusing dont know what i can do to be sure they get it ,, cause some says they took some time to arrange the mails to sending it to the right secation so i wonder how long it take , please help me if anyone knows the right number to call and talk to someone ,, thanks to all of you ,, by the way i'm k3 visa .

We had the same problem when we called, we were told to email. DHL website said they recieved it but when we called DOS to check it wasnt enetered into the system yet. It took almost a week to show they received it. Try not to worry b/c they are so slow in Cairo! Good luck....hope you receive it soon!

The same happend to us, they usually put u on 3 months ap before issue the visa, this is the normal procedure when u forget any document, after 2 or 3 months they will send back the passport. Just wait everything its ok, if u start pushing them they will delay u more.

thanks for the reply , ohh if i pushed them they will cause more delay to me ohhh , i will try to call the DOS number someone on here gave me the number to call so i will try this just to know how the visa process goes so far ,, yeah i heard they working slow in the embassy in cairo and you know what after i done my interview i asked the CO when i will get the visa after i sending this document which is missing then he said to me within two weeks mmmmmmmm,, good luck to all of you .

Calm down and take a deep breath bro .

If the DHL says that the embassy got it so they got it .maybe the embassy didn't upload your wife's divorce certificate in their system yet so thats why they said they did not get it yet .

And it happened to one of my friends '' she is Egyptian and he is American and they asked her for his divorce certificate '' they put her under AP for about 3 months after they got her husband divorce certificate .

As Gracie says they usually put u on 3 months AP before issue the visa, this is the normal procedure when u forget any document .cause they will have to check the missing paper ....

and as people told you that the clean version of hell '' USA embassy in Cairo '' is so slow .

I had my interview back in March and the CO told me it will take 2 weeks till you get the visa .yeah right !!!! it has been 30 weeks and still nothing .

I guess i know that CO who interview you .did he say '' you a nice guy '' ? LOL.

You can not expect anything when it come to USA embassy in Cairo.

You are right .the embassy will not tell you anything on the phone about your case unless you are lucky .so it will be so much better if you ask your wife to call them they might tell her some info about your case cause she is the US citizen .''the same number that you have 27292200'' from 1 till 3 pm Egypt time .

DOS number is 1-202-6631-225 and to talk to an agent press 1 and then press 0 .

If you want to call them from Egypt it you have to dial it like 001-202-6631-225 and then press 1 and then press 0.

I think that when anyone applies through Cairo they should hand out a big bag of patience because you will need it! I'm sure they did get it but they just don't have it logged into their system yet which is why they're telling you it's not there yet. Just try to relax and wait another week before emailing again. It's not like they'll just hand the visa out once they get it, as others have said, so there's really no rush. It just won't do any good unfortunately.

I think you'll be just fine and just call or text Usama when you get anxious and he'll tell you all of our horror stories! It will make you feel better. lol. take care!

thanks to all of you , i know all everyone on here is helpful , i keep saying everone on VJ is great , i will try to relax , my wife called the DOS today and the agent says the same as the embassy have had e mailed me ... we are waiting for the divorced certificate , then she told him but we checked the DHL website and it says its there already then he said well give the embassy one to two weeks to process then she said whattttttttttttt how come take this time once it there already then he said well you can call the embassy and ask cause it all depend on thier speed of system ,, so guys i cant deny that i'm kinda sad cause i thought after my interview and how it went smoothly everything will be fine after i send them this documents then i will get my visa within two weeks as the CO said but seems as all you said they so slow and i'm in AP now wish not took longer or cause huge delay , thanks again for all of you , best luck to all .
