Hey everyone,

Okay so we have our interview on November 2nd, and I'm really nervous for it. We're totally in love but the process of having to PROVE our marriage is crazy! I have read people's horror stories on here about their interviews gone bad and I have gotten myself so nervous! My wife isn't even nervous but I am haha!

So anyways, here is a list of the documents we'll be bringing. Pleaaaaaase tell me if it's enough or not. I don't know what else we could do or gather as the interview is in like four days, but please any advice would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

By the way, I am the U.S. citizen.

2. A photo album with billions of photos including our trip to Disneyland (Los Angeles)

3. Apt. lease with both our names on it

4. Mail with both our names on it

5. Tmobile bill with both our names on it

I have been reading other things people have suggested, such as pics at family gatherings, etc. and we don't have any.

I don't even have a camera anymore as it broke so all the recent pics we've been taking have been from my iphone. we can definitely get pics of me, my wife, and my mom and dad.

We also don't have any wedding pics as we had a civil ceremony. We chose to do this because we decided we wanted to wait on having a big ceremony with friends and family until after I graduate from college.

I feel like we have barely any evidence to prove we have a bonafide relationship. That's the thing I'm stressing out about.

I have pics from all the times I went to her country and spent about 9 months with her. We lived together and literally spent 24 hours a day. Same here. We live together and spend every minute together that I'm not working haha. It's hard to prove a marriage and take billions of pics when you don't really do that much exciting stuff but just spending time together going to the movies, to dinner, watching tv and not to sound cliche, but cuddling.

All that stuff is exciting and amazing, don't get me wrong, but when I meant exciting I meant going mountain climbing, hiking, etc haha.

Anyways, sorry for such a long post but I'm just freaking myself out!

Thank you! :)

Oh yea, I'm sorry one more thing!

I think we screwed up on this. My wife had a medical check up but that was BEFORE she even came to the U.S. It was before her K-1 interview. So more than one year ago! Eeek!

so basically, we have an outdated medical check up. I think we screwed up... am I right? If so, any suggestions on what should be done?

Thank you very much guys.

Can you show JOINT ownership of anything at all? Savings acct., car, any tangible asset? That will help.

Hi old dominion,

Thanks for reponse.

We have a joint checking and two joint savings accounts. We have a joint t-mobile bill in my name and her name.

Car lease is in my name and my mother's as she had to co-sign with me.

Thank you.

I think your list looks very comprehensive! I sent in different forms for AOS, not K1, so I'm sure someone who's had experience with a K1 could better comment. I just wanted to say that there's nothing wrong with being a little nervous...heck, I'm nervous already and we don't even have our interview letter! Interviews in general are nerve-wracking so I think the IO will understand your nerves. Just think of how GREAT it will feel when it's all over and take deep breaths! Pretend you're just going to tell someone about your relationship!

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Your list looks good :-). Your medical may not be considered expired. It needed to be valid within one year of when you filed for the AOS not of when you get the interview - so when did you apply for your AOS?

If your wife's vaccinations were complete and she required no more when she did her K-1 medical USCIS may be satisfied with the existing medical paperwork that they have already received with the K-1. If your wife required/requires additional vaccinations, then they may give you an RFE at the interview requesting proof that she has had those vaccinations. That proof is the I-693 Vaccination part only (not the whole medical) completed by a Civil Surgeon in the US. You can get the shots at your family doctor or at a health unit, but the information needs to be transferred by the Civil Surgeon to the correct form. You would then return that to them within the designated time, and barring no other problems, the AOS would be approved.

Good luck at the interview. I'm sure you'll do just fine!

We didn't have all that much evidence either, just joint lease, joint bank account, photos, cards and affidavits from friends, and the interview was fine. Do you have any cards, like Christmas cards to you both, birthday cards to you from her family/to her from yours? Could you get friends to write something about your relationship? Our interviewer seemed to really like the mothers' day card I had from my now step-son and spent a while reading 3 affidavits we had from friends (saying how we were always together, they could tell we really loved each other etc). Do you have driving licenses with the same address, or car insurance? I would try to print out any pictures you have of the two of you with other family members. Try not to worry!

Removing conditions:

10/9/10 - Package sent to Vermont

10/13/10 - NOA1 date, received 10/18

What I didn;t see on the list is the tax returns for both you and your mom.

You need both W-2's and the tax returns, they are 2 different things.

Also, you need letters that verify your employment/income. Do you have them?

If you follow the checklist on your interview appointment letter you will be fine.

If you have any questions about that checklist please ask...

Thank you very much for the responses guys.

I was just going to bring tax returns from last three years to just try to go above and beyond what they asked for, but if it's not necessary then I can bring just one.

Also, I can get a letter saying I am employed as well.

Thanks a lot guys :)

We recently had an AOS interview.

We lived together for a long time but we didn't have so many good pictures, which was kind of a concern since we read on this forum that IO like to see pictures of you with family and friends. I guess its because it means everyone around you knows about your relationship/marriage. It shows your marriage is true and serious.

We only had pictures of us, mostly taken by us, you know what I mean. We only did a civil wedding with 1 witness so only pictures of us from there too. No friends or family. Most of our pictures were from everyday life; with flowers in the yard, at home cooking, when we went ice-skating etc. We never really went on vacation so no pictures of such. We live far away from our family and even when we visited them, we just didn't care to take pictures. And since many of these pictures we had were taken by us, it shows our face (in kind of a big size) and a little bit of a background...lol...but we still brought as many as possible. I know how you feel. We spend so much time together but we don't take pictures unless we do something exciting/unusual.

At the interview, our IO was very interested in our family and friends. When she found out our family and friends didn't come to our wedding nor we didn't hold any wedding parties, she gave us a nasty look. She was unhappy when there were no pictures of us with family and friends, no pictures of us doing something special. We don't care to do anything special actually. We are so happy just staying together at home. We had many things we wanted to explain to her about this but somehow she gave us very little time. Still, we tried our best to tell her in minimum words that we are not really picture people, that we spent so much time together even though we have not done that much of anything special like going on vacation, that we are happy just being together. Our IO didn't give us a result on the spot. But later on, we received an approval letter.

I believe you have good amount of evidence. We had about the same. Pictures could be one of the good evidences, but it's not the most important. Everybody is different. Some does a lot of special exciting things together and take tons of pictures. Some might never done anything special or exciting and don't even have a camera. And it's not about your family and friends. The most important thing is that you two are a true loving couple. Be confident. And good luck!! I hope my comment helps.
