Paul Naumann from A Foot In Coldwater passed away the other day. I still have a few of their LPs but here's there biggest hit. I'm sure that you've heard it on the radio.

I gotta say, IR5... I have a background in music production and know my music history very well, but I'm a little ashamed to admit that I'd never heard of this song or band.

I wonder if they were more popular in Eastern Canada?

Probably but that hit was apparently Canada wide. It still pops up on the radio from time to time like songs by Gary & Dave (Wyatt, please tell me that you've heard of them). They came after bands and singers that people outside of Toronto probably never heard of like Kensington Market and Jay Telfer (great songwriter, wrote Ten Pound Note, he passed away in May :crying: ). Some of the older Canucks might recall this stuff but it was long before my time, Kensington Market and Jay Telfer (solo and as a member of A Passing Fancy) were active in 1967-68 and A Foot in Coldwater between 1971 and 1975.

BTW, here's my favourite Jay Telfer song, Life, Love and The Pursuit of Happiness:( A Hippy Philosophy) listen to the lyrics carefully.

My dad is an avid CBC listener, have heard that song, lol and admit, it is a very good song!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Oh God. Now I'm going to have that song (Make Me Do Anything You Want) stuck in my head all day. :crying: Listening to it 50,000,000 times on the radio wasn't enough. Ugh. :bonk:

Oh my gosh...YES, April Wine! I must have been sleeping to have missed them.

Ooh. That would have been a good concert. Hemispheres is still my favorite Rush album, with A Farewell To Kings a close second.

I saw Rush in concert in 1997 on the Different Stages tour, and it was a great show...but I'm sure it would have paled in to comparison to seeing them in their prime in the late '70's.

I have nothing relevant to say except I used to live near this town called Coldwater and the running joke would be: "Hey do you ####### from Coldwater?" and the person would say: "Who?" and you'd say: "#######.. you know ####### Shrivels in Coldwater"

Yea... good old small town jokes.

I'm sure he would! CBC is the only station he has ever listened to as long as I can recall! And I know I'm getting old as I tend to enjoy it now and then, lol
