Quick Question about sending in my Marriage License

I still have to send in my Marriage License to Thunder Bay, but I was told there is a place in Toronto that accepts it.

Does anyone know where it is located where they will accept my Marriage license to get registered?

The main center for vital statistics in the Ontario Government is located in Thunder Bay. I suspect that if you sent it to a Toronto mailing address it would still end up in Thunder Bay. The Office of the Registrar General in ThunderBay is the facility that has to produce the marriage certificate. From my understanding, the officiant needs to submit the actual documentation that produces the certificate:

Immediately after the marriage ceremony, the couple may receive a Record of Solemnization of Marriage from the person who performed the ceremony.

This document includes the couple's names, the date of the marriage, the names of the witnesses and whether the marriage was performed under the authority of a licence or the publication of banns. This is not a marriage certificate or a legal record.

The person who performed the marriage must forward the completed and signed marriage licence to the Office of the Registrar General for registration.

You can only apply in person in Toronto to obtain a copy of a marriage certificate for a marriage that is already registered. It needs to be registered by the officiant of your wedding. You will need to wait until you receive the certificate back. There really isn't a short cut.
