I challenge the libruls to come up with one answer that has nothing to do with meaningless sentiment for the following question:

If you can't earn your own health care, what makes you think you're worth it?

If you think you have to earn your own health care, just how much do you think you're worth to your boss?

I am worth whatever they pay me. They pay me enough for me to afford insurance. That means I deserve insurance. If they didn't, then that would mean I didn't. This isn't rocket science.

It is important that we not waste money on the unworthy and undeserving.

Sentimental claptrap. This is what liberalism depends on, appeals to emotion and the need to 'feel good'. Conservatism is superior because it is based on facts and facts alone and does not incorporate emotion or superstitions like religion.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Is this a new form of Conservatism that I was not previously aware of? I thought most Conservatives were god fearin' folks...

That was conservatives during the Bush era. Back when they invaded countries because God asked them to.

Today's conservatives are all about Ayn Rand, or haven't you noticed?

Ayn Rand? No, I need education.

Who do you think John Galt is? That, and other Ayn Rand characters are all the rage today in conservative circles.

The Bible has been set aside, today it's all about Fountainhead.

I see. Well, back to selling organs.

Awesome! I was wondering why corporations would rally against government insurance for all which are not tied to employment. One would imagine they'd be happy :)

Oh it's not a function of the Federal government at all - other than the giant tax breaks employers earn for providing insurance instead of wages.

http://www.randcompare.org/options/mechani..._tax_incentives

The health insurance tax deduction for employers is unlimited meaning the size of the deduction could increase indefinitely relative to the value of the health insurance offered, the level of employer contributions, and the take-up rate among employees. Although employers should be indifferent between providing employee wages versus health insurance because they are treated the same with regards to tax policy, employers receive a larger tax break for health insurance in that in that they do not have to include the value of their health insurance contributions in calculating their contributed share of Social Security and Medicare payments. As a result, employers saved an estimated $73 billion in 2006 by avoiding Social Security and Medicare contributions that they otherwise would have had to pay if they provided compensation in the form of cash wages rather than health insurance.

It's completely stupid to have medical insurance tied to employment.

If you are really sick and need to use that insurance, you may also be sick enough to lose your job.

It's completely stupid for health care to be tied to employment.

It isn't. The insurance is what is mostly tied to employment.

You're not familiar with Ayn Rand? The Fountainhead was college reading for me. Atlas Shrugged was extra credit, I treated it like I did all extra credit.
