Has anyone recieved an I-864 form recently ?.. if so did they receive the new one, or the old one ?

The old I-864 needed to be notarized along with last 3 years' tax returns, W-2s whereas the new one does not need to be notarized and only needs the most recent year's tax return. When I called NVC they said they are sending out the latter one (new one). I should be receiving mine within a week.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Mexico

I got the I-864 on Monday and it is the old one, so i would advice you to use the old one :)

Haydee,

Does your I-864 that NVC sent need to be notarized? Does it need last 3 years's tax return? Please take a look at this I-864 from USCIS website. Is it the same one that NVC sent you?

Thank you, both for the replies. My I-864 is generated this week and I should be getting it soon. I called NVC last week twice and inquired about the I-864. I was told that they are sending the I-864 which does not need to be notarized. I guess, that is not what they are doing.

Haydee and MrsWhizz,

I have just spoken with NVC about I-864. The lady said NVC is sending the old I-864 (which you received), but she also said that in the instructions, they said that you don't need to notarize it. So she says, the notarize area can be left blank. Have you noticed anything like that on your instructions?
