Hi All,

My Wife and I got married on October 2nd, and are sitting down to file all the paperwork.

So far we have the I-130, the I-485, and the I-765 (employment)

We got most things filled out but there were a few things we were unsure about.

First was the Alien Registration Number, is that the number from her entry form stapled in her passport (I think its the I-94)?

Second, is the Alien Receipt Number the same thing?

Third is the name change. She has not changed her name yet anywhere, but is this something that she should do before she files the paperwork.

Things she would need to change in the US would be: SS Card (for a student employee), State ID, Banks, etc.

She has her F1 and her Visa in her old last name, would that need to be changed now before the paperwork? and if so, i believe that she would have to leave the country, which I understand could cause more issues. (let alone its over $1000 for a plane ticket)

There is paperwork that she can change her name on her visa once it is approved, and this seems like it would probably be the best option, but if anyone has any more insight, that would be very helpful.

Forth is when filling out the I-765 (employment form) and Question 16 asks for the Eligibility, the would it be considered an F1 student? or what should I choose?

Also, when submitting the I-130 and the I-485 concurrently would we send it in the same package? or in seperate packages to the same location?
